I really didnāt have much of a problem with the PSN netcode for HDR really. I think a patch that boosts the speed, and fixes the bugs would be great. I mean capcom should give money to patch the game I mean this is the 20th anniversary of SF2, so why not just release a patch that fixes the bugs, gives a true classic mode with the backgrounds and the music, and well that makes online better.
The online in HDR is gdlk compared to SSFIVAE, MVC3, and MK.

hit confirming still plays a pretty significant role in st. you donāt end a combo with a punishable special unless you know they arenāt blocking. st and 3s are king.
Go back to sirlin.net you tool.
moocus, Iām so psyched for 3rd Strike online. If you could school me in that game when it launches and teach me how things are done there thatād be awesome. I have some good experience with the game but Iām no where near the level Iām at in ST.

3rd Strike should have went w/ a remix modeā¦Did not care for this game when it came out didnāt care for either after the Daigo parryā¦
I donāt know if remixing solves that gameās problems. It was difficult for me to go from SF2ās sublime cast to SF3ās mostly throwaway roster. I did enjoy Dudley & Hugo though. Thereās something about playing as Andore that never gets old.
i actually like the netcode for HDR. itās the ps3 input lag thatās killing me. i canāt do two srks in a row on the ps3. on the xbox, no problem. on the ps3, after my first srk heāll either throw a fireball, or just stand there and do two jabs depending if i do a full swing or not. my first input just doesnāt register.
in an online match, i threw a fireball to bait a jump in and intended to followup with an srk. the ps3 didnāt register my forward input for the srk so my guy ends up just standing there and throwing two jabs and then i get kicked in the face and lose the match. pisses me off and i canāt afford to have my old xbl setup right now.
Ba ha ha jiggly.
Anyways most specials and some supers are safe in st, so you donāt really have to hit confirm.
In 3s a lot are varying levels of unsafe, making hit confirming much much more important
Thatās not input lag. Thatās inputs being dropped, which I havenāt experienced with HDR (PS3 or 360) besides when I was using my adapter with a Dual Shock 2. (Strangely enough, it seems fine with a Dual Shock 3, even though I bought a brand new DS2.) In fact, motions for moves should be one of the few things that isnāt negatively affected by input lag.
Iām also betting right now that Third Strike Online Edition will have at least 1 frame of extra input lag above the arcade version on PS3, if not more, because Capcom doesnāt seem to know how to make PS3 games without input lag.

and dlc
jesus christ capcom your killing us with the wait
Net work quality causes input dropping. In emulated versions, slows machines can also cause it due to being unable to handle the copies running in the background. This last part should not happen in console, as it is a relatively powerful platform and should be adjusted so as to run a number of copies that it will always handle. Still, this is an issue with higher latencies, in which case GGPO still outperforms Capcomās or Backboneās net code. I assume it is Backboneās: Capcom games come with POS netcode, while HDRās is basically the best one available for consoles, atm. At least when it comes to fighting games.
As for input lag in PS3, it is basically lazy design by the softwarehouses, which make games for XBox 360 and simply port it to PS3 when it is mostly complete. In case I aināt mistaken, there are games for which the opposite has happened, and the result is the XBox version has lag. If I was a 3rd Strike player, Iād be asking daily āWill the PS3 version be a rushed port from the X360 oneā at Capcom Unity. I wouldnāt give them peace. Have no doubt: the PS3 lag is Backboneās fault, together with Capcom, which should have checked the game for such obvious issues. By the way, I wonder if they couldnāt just fix the CCC version, identifying the source of the input lag.
But I wonāt take this bet against you: I expect the worst.

jiggly: i might have taken you off my friends list since we never really play. iāll send a request over soon so we can play the other best fighting game ever made. hopefully with the best netcode ever made.
would it be a good idea to make a 3s matchmaking thread for st guys?
edit* probably not, i guess
yeah, thatās what i meant. with lag, the move would just come late. anyway, the drops are coming because according to the ps3, iām inputting the moves too soon and it only registers the latter part of what iām trying to do. nonetheless, the ps3ās version aināt right and thereās plenty of srkāers who would attest to this.
is that some sort of weak ass challenge?

No, I just thought the wall of complaining was⦠funny?
well, the last 5 years or so, capcomās track record hasnāt been very good. there are concerns with 3SO which i think are warranted. this thread is funny since it covers more of 3SO and ST than it does remix. if 3SO turns out as everyone hopes, then that means things are going in the right direction. otherwise, youāll be seeing more walls of complaining. thatās just the way it is.

Regarding 3SO, the only complaints being made right now are certain differences in details regarding graphics. Theyāre not exactly game-changing, but stuff like the colors of Aegis Reflectors being different and Ryuās duffel bag not falling down or whatever. This may undoubtedly come off as needlessly anal(and Iāll agree), but it did raise some questions about whether itās truly arcade perfect or not. So far though, Iāve heard no real complaints about input lag or anything else like that, so thatās good enough for me.
They seem to be really confident with 3SO and its potential success, so maybe this is a step in the right direction.

Wont happen, im pretty sure some ST dude will find a .000234287 lag difference compared to the CPS2, so it will be a no goā¦
People make ST fans sound like Sonic fans. āBUT RYUāS RED HADOUKEN SHOULD HAVE AN EXTRA WAVE OF ENERGY AT THE END,THANKS FOR RUINING ST CRAPCOM, NOT BUYING THIS!ā
