Corkscrew Cross or Rolling Thunder?

only if the spacing on c.mk was far. better examples would be gouki’s and ken’s c.mk to hadou.

Its been my experience that it would hit him regardless as long as it was reversal timed headbutt. You’d get in between both of them.

Does anyone know what he’s supposed to be saying between “Corkscrew” and “The End” in his U2? My friend keeps saying he’s saying “punch” when he hits you, but all I hear is what sounds like an impact grunt more than any actual word.

Pretty sure it’s “cross”

Or Fei’s U2

Depends I guess, but the punch has low damage while rolling does more.
Not really worth it as an anti air.

I think he meant all U1s can combo off jump ins. I have no idea if thats true or not but that’s how I read his post.

Well, that was the obvious first guess, but it doesn’t sound anything like that to me, and no one else I’ve asked in person knows what the hell he’s saying either. Everyone says something entirely different.

I can’t bring myself to use Rolling Thunder, even against fireballers. I like Corkscrew Cross too much.

I actually use it more right now than Corkscrew, but it’s probably just because of the type of players I have been playing against and it utterly shuts down Dudley in a mirror match. The chip damage on it also seems to be slightly superior in the situations where you need just that much to finish someone off. Corkscrew may be more user friendly as far as combos, anti air and not having to worry so much about leaving yourself wide open because you mistimed someone landing from a jump in, but I rarely found myself ever using it simply because once I have an ultra the match is almost over anyway and if I’m not going to be able to guarantee a combo that will be able to land it, I want something that does respectable chip and moves you. Many people play fireball characters as well, and it’s also not a bad punishing move in general for blocked or slow attacks.

I personally feel that rolling thunder isn’t that useful, once you get ultra any decent player will stop throwing fireballs completely. anything else that it can punish can also be punished by corkscrew or ex mgb depending on the situation. and if you’re a decent dudley, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to land corkscrew in a combo once you get them in the corner.

however, the animation is so good that i pick it anyways sometimes

Sounds like free walk up to me.

Yeah that’s exactly the point.

Corkscrew Cross, mainly because only recently did I discover how brilliant it is as an anti-air.

I would also generally use Corkscrew cross, in matchups where is can actually connect…For example i don’t use it against Adon because except by DP’ing into it, you cannot juggle it midscreen from like cr.hk with any follow up, or after EX MGB.Rolling thunder also nicely punishes his wiffed HK.

Good fucking God I hate people.

Actually you can hit them from full screen with Rolling Thunder. All you have to do is stay full screen and wait for them to throw a fireball or Dhalsim’s limbs and then dash in and ultra their ass. i love it when a scrub first throws a fireball from mid screen and gets ultra’d then throws one from 3/4 screen still gets ultra’d, finally he throws one from full screen thinking it’s safe and then i dash in and ultra his ass once again and then there “WTF!!!”, “Man that thing has full screen range!!!” and the occasional “Full Screen makes it so broken”. Gotta Love Scrubs they make you laugh at times.

So i dont play with dudley but i just discovered this myself. You can actually EX the first hit and knock him out of the rest of the ultra…Ive done this so many times online now im sure many people are pissed off at me.

How many times are you dashing, and are you actually doing it off reaction, or psychically? Half of the time when I do it off reaction and am farther than 1/3 of the screen away they are able to recover and block, and it seems almost impossible to do it on reaction to Chun Li or Guile from anywhere but almost point blank.

Regarding Fei’s U2, I once used Corkscrew Cross and beat it completely. But when I used Rolling Thunder on Cammy’s U2 I got countered instead. I wonder why that is? Would they really give Fei a counter ultra that doesn’t counter ultras, or is there something special about the hitbox of Corkscrew?
