Quick question - are all those option selects in the op still legit in AE?
Option selects generally donât change .
Nah I was thinking:
âNeckbreaker -> s.mk -> j.hp -> OS lk cd -> (reaction) EX neckbreakerâ
For instance, is there a point to the s.mk before the safe jump anymore? Because I heard the positioning after a neckbreaker has changed slightly in AE.
I dunno, but I donât think Iâve ever used that setup. Especially not now that we have easy unblockables.
Not sure it would still work. Although her recovery time for neckbreaker didnât change, the properties on s.MK did go through some tweaks, but youâll have to test to see if thatâs still a valid safe jump. After neckbreaker I usually use b.mp and do a jump HP or MK.
This doesnât quite apply against Akuma or other shotos. The reason why the previous setup was somewhat of a safe jump was because it was purposely timed to stuff dp or make it whiff. The b+MP safe jump is too fast and Ibuki will always end up landing right in front of the shotoâs fist.
Oh I didnât mean that the safe-jump would work on shotosâŚbecause none of them work. As far as I know, the unblockable that works on shotos would be EX neckbreak, mk dash, jump mk, but that does that work for all shotos and akumas or just ryu?
I donât see an unblockables thread.

That was great timing for me too! Thanks MD!
Im a little confused with the j.MK being unblockable on shotos. Can they not Shoryuken through it? Or does it whiff since you go behind them and they will just get punished anyway?
Option Select is such a weird term for what it is. Took me so long to figure out what in the world OS was, but it kind of makes sense since it is such a tricky thing. XD
They can certainly dp it. But it cannot be reversal timed, and it has to be autocorrected. Depending on the normal you did, it may or may not stuff their dp. And depending on the dp they did, it may or may not simply fully whiff, opening them up to a full combo.

Oh ok, reversing the motion clears up the OS of âbuffering Fukiage after dashes with HCB or Kara-Cs etcâ too. Nice. (why it DOES work that is)
Hi!
I´m trying to learn how to OS but I don´t know how really do it, how and when should I press the different inputs.
For example, I´m trying against dictator, after a knockdown j.lk and OS neckbreakerâŚbut I can´t do it right, it just doesn´t work at allâŚAnyone has a video doing something similar with the input display?
Thanks a lot!!!
^You wonât get these timings just by watching videos.
Go training.
Take whoever you want
Play against Ibuki
Put the opponentâs moves to "save"
Do something like neckbreaker - j.MK option select neckbreaker
Put the opponentâs moves to âReplayâ
And check how does it work when you backdash, when you block, when you get hit. If you did it correctly, when you backdash, Ibuki should do neckbreaker.
Try again until you get the timing!
Go to training mode and set dictator to do a back teleport on wakeup. Switch back to Ibuki, knock me down, and try to do a a jump-attack while OSâg a neckbreaker. You should see the attack whiff, and you go immediately into a neckbreaker. This is just to get you started with the idea of doing an OS with a jump attack, and this applies to ANY character in a variety of situations with varying specials/normals/ultras. Ideally you would do a safe jump along with these OS.
For the timing of the button presses, you want to press it in rapid succession. That means that while youâre doing your jump attack, your left hand should already be doing the inputs. Press your buttons as if youâre trying to piano them.
