I’ve bought three of these cheap little bastards. They’re like 30 bucks a pop, so I honestly have no real issue just getting another one if this problem can’t be fixed but i’m curious to understand why, and how this can be fixed; My USB cable keeps shorting out. Its almost as if its simply coming loose from the PCB, so much so that if I pull it in some directions it will pause the game i’m playing (disconnect completely). The last stick I had, would activate the PS3 menu randomly and stay locked on that screen. My Stick wouldn’t move, and my buttons wouldn’t register.
Is this a simple issue of resoldering the cable to the PCB, or does this go much deeper?
That is a possibility but if you open your SE and take a pic of the inside you will give us a lot more to go on. before you do check the cable for anything abnormal such as tears and breaks. is the same issue happening on all three SE’s?
I opened up a PS3 SE I had and the shield ground was completely hanging off. I don’t think it was tugged or anything. And the soldering isn’t that great. I could see this totally happening. I’m not sure about your guide button going off, but the USB cable isn’t mounted well at all.
