Confirmed - Dreamcast games heading to PSN and X-Box Live Arcade

So far it’s only confirmed to be SEGA releasing DC games, but hopefully others will follow their lead.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Project Justice: Rival Schools 2 are the Dreamcast games that I want the most. Oh, and some Shenmue and Skies of Arcadia.

Seaman! Seaman god damn it!!!

Just pointing this out, the games that are be announced so far are Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi. both are those are SEGA games, meaning sega is planning on releasing THEIR library, not capcoms or anyone elses. Thats up to the other companies if they want to port their games like Capcom did with MvC2.

Also, i saw a couple of posts hoping for Project Justice. Sadly, Capcom Reps have posted many times on their official forums, capcomunity.com , stating that due to licensing issues via the voice actors, the games had a contract so that it could only be sold on a certain system at the time, also the voice actors were not credited properly, so they don’t know who all the voice actors are ( one of the known voice actors is dead ). Due to this, the games cannot be brought back. So if you own any of the original copies, hold on to them dearly.

(edit: :u: beat me to it)

I imagine they’d just start with SEGA’s own first-party titles. So Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi make sense, and then maybe some of the SEGA studio games like Skies of Arcadia, Jet Grind Radio… Though I wonder if we’ll see PSO again? I’d mention VOOT, but isn’t that game already out on XBL? I guess it could go to PSN, as well.

With that in mind, I hope they don’t skimp on the online multiplayer. I’m sure there are a few people who would kill to be able to get online matches going in Soul Calibur 1 or even the old 2K Sports games (licence issues not withstanding).

Well if they come w/ online I’d assume they’re most likely on XBL since the servers arent coming out of sega’s/anyone else’s pocket(although I think Microsoft takes some of the cost of online whether people pay or not)…

In any case, I am so glad to be living right now… keep up the good work 2010… with MvC3 coming out next year along with news of other games, life doesn’t get much better… god I’m such a nerd…

Bring on Gigawing and Gigawing 2.

We BETTER be getting dat VOOT.

Jet Set Radio, Skies of Arcadia, and Shenmue please!

This news made my day so much better!

They’re probably using primarily Dreamcast exclusives and in house Sega titles. Sorry to burst the bubble of everyone who’s coming up with big lists of their favorite fighting games, but the respective companies still own those titles. Sucks because I’d love to see Power Stone online, but I’m pretty sure that’s up to Capcom and not Sega. They would be smart to release that and Project Justice of course, people would buy it. But that’s not Sega’s choice.

Who developed that Die Hard Arcade game, now that I think of it? That shit is made for XBLA, that was pretty fun back in the day.

if we can just get shenmue and jet grind radio…i’ll shut up about not getting:

brave fencer musashi
xenogears
parasite eve
ffIX in a timely manner
ps2 games on the psn such as tekken tag, ffX, etc.
ffVI
chrono trigger
etc.

on the psn for at least half a year.

DC games on PSN and LIVE? Well now:

  1. Jet Set Radio
  2. Skies of Arcadia
  3. Grandia 2 (PS2 version was some trash)
  4. Power Stone 1 & 2
  5. Evolution 1 & 2 (probably the only oddball who played and enjoyed those games)

If they just give me Skies of Arcadia and/or Grandia 2, I’d be more than content with that.

Virtua Tennis FTW

JSR or bust.

I’d totally accept Project Justice and Sonic Shuffle for PSN/XBLA!

If they cleaned up Sonic Shuffle a bit, it could work out. I liked the Card System for movement, the mini-games were awesome, and if they either balanced out or removed Super Sonic as a character (he was hella broken on the game board), that’d be sweet. Both games could benefit from online gameplay! And give Project Justice back the custom-character creating board game that we didn’t get in the US version of it and it’d be even more awesome.

lol @ people thinking Project Justice is some hidden gem or something.

Please wake up.

Yeah if it’s just 1st-party Sega DC games getting the treatment, can’t think of anything I’m dying to have. Saturn was Sega’s heyday for me.

Still have most of my DC games but who the hell wants to hook up a system everytime you want to play a game or two. I’d gladly pay for the convenience and online capability of DC a release on my PS3.

Games that would get WAY more play for me if I wasn’t too lazy to break out my DC are gems like:

Power Stone 1 and 2, Project Justice, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Techromancer, Shenmue 1 and 2, Virtual On, Crazy Taxi 1 and 2, Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Capcom vs SNK 1 and 2, Spawn In the Demons Hand, Ikaruga, Giga Wing 1 and 2, Mars Matrix, Gunbird 2, Cannon Spike, Plasma Sword, Bomberman Online, Dynamite Cop, Zombie Revenge, Expendable, Toy Commander, Chu Chu Rocket, Jet Grind Radio, Fighting Vipers 2, Last Blade 2, Mark of the Wolves, Third Strike and Alpha 3.

All these games I own but I would fucking love it if they could bring them out PSN with online and HD support. I’d buy em all again I tell you.

i really wish there was a way to get jet set radio future other than getting an xbox, tho.

chao gardens!!!
