1)If you have kids, have the mom entertain them or something. Avoiding the possible interruption is far better than having to deal with it.
2)For the wives: have them respect your fun/alone time with games. You respect their requests for some time and space, why can’t they do the same for you?
That deserves some rep (too bad I’m not Prem)!
But yeah, what I was looking for is maybe stories of other people who’ve lost their concentration, and what they do to deal with it. Not everyone deals with stress the same way.
@JJB727: That was only ONE example I gave. On another day, I was just not in it at all, for no other reason that I couldn’t get a rythm going. Inputs were flubbed, moves were being countered as if I was calling them out to my opponent before I did them, just a generally bad day. I stopped for a few hours. But as soon as I started playing again later that night, it was still an epic fail.
itt: people taking SFIV online way too seriously.
Although the (I hope) fake post about their mom interrupting their SFIV was absolutely hilarious, A++
That aside, it would be interesting to learn how the veterans here handle all the distractions and nerves of tournaments.
Yeah, I play better while I’m distracted for some reason. If I concentrate, I always get fucked up with mind games. Go figure.
I head back to training mode. Also, I don’t take the match seriously…because I don’t want to end up like this “Darksydephil” on The Bad Losers Wall of Shame.
