Yeah, I tried this:
That didn’t help. I have no clue.
I’m trying to get a static IP for GGPO and 2DF.
I type in my IP in the address bar and then a log screen appears,I use my routers name as the login and the wep key as the password. It doesn’t work,so what should I do?

Hey guys, is Window XP Service Pack 3 worth installing? The update just popped up for me but I remember ppl saying that SP2 is still better… thoughts?

A service pack is always worth installing.
You’re trying to log on to your router, right? The pass is usually “admin” with the user left blank.
It has all the updates that SP2 did plus a few bug fixes. Just make sure to get the latest install since there’s an infinite loop bug in the older installation.
ok so i have a custom built computer that works fine. 1.9 ghz athlon64x2, 1 gb ram, 650 W power supply. i built this like a year ago.
usually im running it off of the onboard VGA on the motherboard which is a Radeon x1250. wanting an upgrade i bought a Radeon HD 4850. so i plug the sucker in, plug the 6 pin power cord into the graphics card, attach the VGA cord and i turn on the system.
and then… nothing. the monitor stays blank. no bios screen no nothing. however everything else is working fine, i can hear windows starting up through the speakers and everything. i took it back to the store to get it checked to see if it wasnt faulty, but it was fine.
so what seems to be the problem? (if i take the card out and i plug the VGA cord back on to the motherboard it works fine.)
So my laptop is being an ass.
Tuesday I was able to go on GGPO and play against some other SRK members just fine. Yesterday I was browsing an image gallery perfectly and my laptop performance was just fine. It was fast. Now today I can’t face the same person I was able to on GGPO anymore. I can’t browse the image gallery because it won’t load pictures anymore. I keep getting that broken paper symbol.
And on top of all that it’s moving slower now.

Did you try disabling the onboard video in the BIOS first?
yes. that didnt work. and then i had to reset the CMOS to get it to work on the onboard later :xeye:

I’m trying to reformat my computer but it seems to always get stuck on the same screen for some reason.
I left it on all night in case it was just slow or working in the background but 8hours later, nothing.
It’s in french so I’ll try to translate as best I can.
It’s a blue screen with on top "Windows XP pro installation"
and on the bottom it says something along the lines of “Checking: Desk 0 of 238473 Mb with ID 0 of bus 0 on Atapi.”
Edit: nevermind, turns out I either need some RAID drivers or if that doesn’t work, my hd is fubar.

I was wondering if anyone had a good site to buy a laptop from, I’ve heard cyberpowerPC and some of those sites are better deals, I was just wondering if anyone had bought a computer through an independent site and if anyone had a good recommendation.

Hey guys, once again i got some bogus virus on my computer. sometimes when i boot up my computer, it will halt at a stand still, random msn news casts are playing in the background on my pc and i have nothing running. it just plays non stop. and when i try to go to google or something and find kaspersky anti virus free trial, websites that i should be able to go to, it turns into a advertisement pop up. and webages dont load fully. it loads half way, then it says its done.
If anyone could download a kerspersky 30 day trial, and send it to me on aim, i would really appreciate it. help me out srk >.<

ok, internet explorer and firefox 2 still running at a sluggish pace, webpages dont load all the way or at all. typing has input lag , cant watch videos online, they dont buffer or load.
I had a friend send me the trial or kespersky via aim and i cant install it. a window pops up saying i need to remove something called AVG 8 from my computer before i continue, but i dont have anything like that on my computer. so basically i cant install it. wtf???!

AVG 8 is different anti-virus software.
Since your computer has been hijacked, there’s no knowing what the fuck they’ve done to your system. Your typing could be slow for example because it’s key-logging you.
Which virus is it? How do you keep getting it?

I dont know what virus i have, Is there a way i could find out?
but yeah, i think i used to have AVG 8 on my computer, and i DID uninstall it when i wanted to try kerspersky , but it says its still on my computer so i cant install the trial ver. of kesrspersy to get rid of my problem. But i know its nowhere on my computer anymore, so i dont know what to do.
ill search for non virus related things on google like games or media, and open those google links in new tabs and it redirects me to ads or empty pages. something fishy is definitely up and i dont know what to do. My internet browsers are slow, videos dont load and pages dont load all the way, or not at all. ><

Do you have Windows Live Messenger? If you want to add me (zachdms at hotmail dotty com) you can request a Remote Assistance session via that and I can see if I can figure anything out.
alternatively, something like Hijack This might be able to help you figure out what it is.
err…my computer randomly runs slower than usual. like flash based media arent playable anymore(NBC.com stream but youtube works fine). I checked for virus/trojan but everything is clean according to AVG and ytoolbar.
HOWEVER…windows task manager shows “system idle precess” is using 99% cpu. anybody know what I can do here ??
I recently came back to college and am using cable internet. The thing is I am unable to stream videos from youtube and hulu and such. The internet speed is fine and I have never had this problem when I used to run wireless. The people in my dorm are able to stream things just fine but I am the only one using Vista.
Is there a way to change the destination folder when all the intalled programs go? my computers sends them by default to C, but C is too small
How do I make it so that all the programs are installed on D: by default?
I am running XP btw
