Wesker’s kinda simple, but for his mobility class, he has a pretty decent lifebar and does (relatively) retarded meterless damage. He has an extremely useful assist, a fast full-screen punish, can refloat off OTG gunshot with most of the assists in the game, and his level 3 scales very well in combos. It really doesn’t take much brain-bending to find a spot for Wesker on a team of any strategic purpose. That utility will carry him pretty far as the game develops, I think.

I made a short, very easily hit confirmable combo last night. I’m pretty sure it can be done anywhere on screen.
I don’t know how much meter gain, didn’t have time to check.
470k damage meterless, as opposed to 450k-460k ~ish from other bnbs (that are also harder imo).

5B > 2C > 6C > 2B > 5CC > 236B > *

  • 66 > 2B > 2C > D > air combo
  • AA (teleport) > 2B > 2C > D >air combo

The first one will preserve your player side.
The second one will switch over.
Both do same damage.
EDIT: Not sure if this can be gunshot OTG’d > assist > KFC > lvl3 hyper. I don’t think there’s enough hitstun by the end.

I think this will be a good short one for the execution-challenged.

Gunshot OTG’ing is mandatory for Wesker it seems.
Also, if you’re going for damage, 2B > 2C >launcher is better than 5B > 5CC methinks. Too much proration from 5CC, but it’s good for hit confirming or pressure.

Lastly, 2B has surprisingly good reach. Doesn’t look like it, but it does (saw from Maximilian’s vid).

Wesker’s looking good, gonna try him.

Anyone able to break 305k with his wall bounce command throw without using Super? I guess the command throw itself has alot of decay afterwards so it’s hard really go beyond that. Which is fine. He’s pretty beast having a command throw in the first place.

Im on wesker as well, saturating people globally has never been more fun, him and Chris are a solid team, can’t wait to see how Jill plays altogether with them

Guys forgive me but I’m completely new to the Marvel series. I’m trying to do Wesker’s 5th mission and I can not connect the last hit no matter what. After the launcher the combo goes:

air m
air m
air h
air s

I can’t get the air s to connect, the opponent always ends up too high up. There must be some mechanic here I don’t understand. Can anyone help?

I’ve been rolling Wesker, Akuma, Dr. Doom in training mode. Put together some neat combos…cr. M+Akuma Assist > cr. H > forward+H (shoot forward) XX L teleport followup > L > M > H > S > … is my current favorite thing. Dunno if I can hitconfirm before bringing akuma out, but I haven’t played a real person yet so who knows.

dr. dooms molecular shield assist works instead of jam session I think.

Anyone utilizing teleport in air combos. I’ve been doing jB, jB, jC, air samurai edge, C teleport, land, forward dash crossup, etc. Mix up teleport on how they tech.

I got one for 318,900.
Corner combo though.

As you can see from those, 2B’s got some awesome reach.

The main problem with this is, at least from my experience, that the teleport from the projectile counter doesn’t track the opponent, and instead goes forward a set distance and then attacks. You have to be relatively close to make the counter actually connect. Before I gave up using it I tried to use it to get through Arthur daggers and just got hit by other stuff. IMO you’re better off using your regular teleports to try and get through.

Im rocking Wesker (Samurai Edege)/Chris (Machine Gun Blast)/Sentinel (Drones)

Loving this team too… one thing I really like doing is launching them up ending with S,then while the are waiting to get up off the ground I summon the drones and teleport behind them.

Also mission 9 or 10 (cant remember which one) is a corner combo with Chris’s machine gun assist and is pretty effective. I have been experimenting with a few variations of it.

Currently using Wesker (Samurai Edge)/Chris (Switching up between grenade and gun)/Morrigan (Meter battery), loving it. I’m having 1 problem though - Morrigan’s level 3 is very easy to connect in an air combo for me but the only way I can connect Wesker’s is just a magic L-M-H cancel into level 3, anyone find any viable set ups for his level 3 or am I just SOL?

How do you get that assist setup started on Mission 8? haI havent the correct way to input just the

cr.M, cr.H, Partner-1, Phantom Move, st.H to be connected? I understand the rest of the combo, its just i cant teleport in time of chris’ assist

this is kind of random, but do you guys feel a character like shehulk might be out of sync with wesker’s style? if wesker was point? if she-hulk was point?

since shehulk has a low assist, and wesker has a teleport where he goes in the air (and you can force them to block with gun->teleport), it’s possible to make a difficult to block setup

What are the ranges where you can consistently get c.H, to qcf+l, to dash df+h, then, cr.m, or dash st.l both follow ups seem really inconsistent. Especially online where with lag I sometimes don’t even qcf+l fast enough.

right now the cr.l,st.m,st.h xx qcf+m (c teleport) falling c, st.b,st.c (1hit) launch seems more consistent… don’t know the damage difference. You can probably also do st.b, cr.c for a little more damage…

we really need a combo thread. Also Im ging to try the multiple f+H gun combo from max’s vid that looks cool.

qcf+L,dash,df+H into whatever can be done consistently from anywhere.from midscreen or further wavedash twice.or you dont even need to wavedash just dash once as far as possible.also replace st.M with low.M it has more range and damage.

Nice, I got the game yesterday and after messing in training trying to find “my” team I ended up on Wesker Trish Sentinel. Good to see others draw the same conclusions as well! Would love to hear of any fun Wesker tactics you’ve come up with using either assist!

I’m a bit turned off on Wesker/Chris dues to their shared lack of anti-air. Having both of them on the same team would require the third character to have a good anti-air assist, which, IMO, implies Doom Hidden Missiles.

Yeah I saw buk was double wave dashing to get the right range, I had tried that but I was letting my second wave dash go to far so the gun wouldn’t hit on the opponent, because I was to close. Just 1 dash will get you close enough to dash into l again but its not consistent, because the margin of error to not dash quite far enough seems pretty big. Looks like with a double wave dash though you can just do cr.m and continue a combo no dash needed.
