I heard wesker’s maximum wesker is a 50/50 on wakeup. Is this true?
Yup. You actually have to block HIM as he’s shooting around this screen if you aren’t already in blockstun. In fact, if you just arbitrarily throw it out there, and they block it initially, there’s a chance that his random pattern will miss enough for them to come out of blockstun and then get tagged at some point during the rest of the animation. It randomly crosses up, is the bottom line.
Not the BEST usage of meter, though. You can never really tell how many hits are going to land even if you connect it clean, meaning it doesn’t always do that much damage.

Found an interesting corner only combo with Wesker and Magneto Hyper Grav assist.
L, M, c.H, Ghost Butterfly (236M), wall bounce, dash backwards, c.L, c.M, c.H, Cobra Strike (236L), Magneto Hyper Grab Assist, Samurai Edge (low shot), H (2 hits), S, j.M, j.M, j.HxxPhantom Dance. Deals 583, 000 dmg.
The way the combo works is that Ghost Butterfly wall bounces behind you so your combo options are limited at that point. If you wait past the point where any button gives you a teleport you can dash backwards and recover in front of the opponent. This lets you get the rest of the combo to work. Other important note is to call Mangeto assist first and then do Samurai Edge low shot, don’t call the assist and samurai edge at the same time it’ll whiff.
In longer combos only Magento’s Hyper Grav. assist will combo off of Samurai Edge but the catch is that the majority of the time it’ll be corner only. Magento’s EM Disruptor assist will combo off of Samurai Edge if the combo count is relatively low and the damage output isn’t as high but it’ll work anywhere on the screen.

I love how this game just kinda lets you do what you want. You just think it and the game says to you…yeah man that works.
I had around five matches the other night with the other highest ranked player on XBL. Went 4-1 and he uses Ryu, Wolverine, Hulk surprisingly. Will upload the set later tonight.

I just signed in to say, nice videos Maximilian.
I was having trouble trying to figure out ways to approach, use assists, making new combos, etc. Stuff like this makes it easier for others to see characters in a different light and sparks more ideas.

Can’t wait till post-retail research.
It’ll really speed up character discovery and hopefully not show that Wesker is a limited character.
Wesker/Thor/Dante is a pretty damn good team combo. Edge, Smash, Session assists allow for insane combo extensions for all characters I think (don’t know Dante very well).

With zoning appearing to be a viable strategy this time around it seems to me that anyone with a teleport is automatically decent at the very least. The one thing I’m a bit disappointed in, however, is that more people aren’t using his projectile counter against projectile spam. Wesker seems like he’d be a hard counter to anyone who tries to use this strategy in the least.

I was for sometime, record is around 195-15. Others now have much more wins and the problem is I think the ranked matches are skilled/rank matchmaking, so finding games is extremely difficult now as the folks with high rank are less than 20.
I’m sure some more will show up once the game has officially launched.
So, I’m trying to decide who’s gonna have a place on my team. Wesker, obviously, but the other two slots are undecided. Some teams I’m looking at are:
Wesker/Wolverine/Dormmamu
Wesker/Deadpool/Doom (or dante, possibly)
Wesker/Chris/Wolverine
Right now, Wesker/Dorm/? is looking like my team. The third slot is pretty open, Wolverine (for more Rushdown) or Deadpool (for a bit more balance) are the two most likely contenders, but I won’t really know until I’ve got my hands on the game.
Getting crossed up by “Maximum Wesker” = :mad:
Must be something I’m doing wrong. Sometimes my character will literally switch sides during the f’ing Hyper.

wesker, sentinel, trish is awesome.
sentinels assist helps him immensely. then again, drone assist is too good. same with bomb assist.
unfortunately, trish up peekabo assist doesnt allow combo extensions, but it makes some crazy resets.

BTW guys his A palm strike is hella fast and since his s.c gives days to hit confirm with that move I think that should be the primary combo starter for Wesker. You have forever to hit confirm and if s.C is blocked you can just tele away to safety or for mix-ups. Or just do low samurai edge then cancel to tele.
This is invaluable for Wesker because he CAN’T rapid fire his crouching light attack for hit confirms. (A)
