I wanted Chibi Ghost Kenshiro to stick around a little longer to collect more salty tears.
It was fun for a day. It’s sickening when it’s usage was like 90% and every match basically came down do a 50/50 on whose shadow sneak went first.
Spectral theif is the dumbest attack ever created
Yeah I got ass raped by that thing anytime I didn’t toxic. I literally had no way yo deal with it.
What do the surge abilities do exactly?
They are auto terrain abilities like how drizzle is auto rain. So Electric Surge sets Electric Terrain upon a Pokemon’s entry
The set up elemental terrain effects that affect all grounded Pokemon.
Electric Terrain boosts electric attacks by 50% and prevents Sleep
Grassy Terrain boosts Grass attacks by 50%, cuts the power of Earthquake and Magnitude by 50% and regens 12% HP each turn
Psychic Terrain boosts Psychic attacks 50% and prevents priority attacks like Quick Attack and Sucker Punch from working
Misty Terrain reduces damage from Dragon attacks 50% and prevents any statuses from taking effect
Each of these lasts for 5 turns, but a held item called the Terrain Extender can increase this to 8 turns.
There are also Seed items that can be held that will activate when the corresponding Terrain goes active and provide a stat boost:
**Psychic Seed ** will boost Sp. Def. one stage in Psychic Terrain
Grassy Seed will boost Def. one stage in Grassy Terrain
Electric Seed will boost Def. one stage in Electric Terrain
Misty Seed will boost Sp. Def. one stage in Misty Terrain
The Terrains also change the move Nature Power into Thunderbolt, Moonblast, Energy Ball, and Psychic respectively.
A detailed explanation and everything. Thanks you two. Still wondering how I got Aqua Jet to work on Lele though. Isn’t that a priority move?
Terrain probably went off.
Is there a reason people are running scarf greninja and koko?
scarf koko is ass, but it’s so it can uturn away from scarf dugtrio while also beating scarf gren. i haven’t seen it in a while, i’ve seen some z wild charge sets come up (they’re fucking fire)
scarf gren is pretty good, it role compresses by also being able to set up spikes while also revenge killing +1 volcarona, zygarde and chomp, etc. It also has the fear of gren’s versatility factor behind it
Lol Dugtrio got mofos so scared they’re scarfing Koko and Greninja…
How long before it gets banned too?
I have seen 2 or 3 z wild charge kokos but I mainly have seen scarfed greninja and koko and that shit throws me the fuck off every time I see it. Especially that scarf greninja (protean) set.
Dugtrio is probably getting a suspect after olts. It’s that or arena trap. Im so tired of this thing. It’s win rate is stupid high after it traps something (im talking like 90%). I hate this thing And if it goes this will be the most fun gen ever. The meta should be way better after it goes.
Scarf koko isnt really a set tbh. You’ll see it once in a while cause scarf brave bird is nice and electric stab is super good.
Scarf gren is one of the best scarf mons (right after latios And keldeo). Ice/poison/rock coverage is crazy good. It’s also not a momentum sink like nihilego
Idk why i respond to po, he doesnt play the meta and just shit talks it so fuck him for being worse than verlis
I shit talk because terrible people being terrible at Pokemon, yet somehow believing they are not terrible people and terrible players, thinking that removing options somehow increases them instead is a source of endless amusement and confusion.
No one that plays “competitive” Pokemon has any clue as to how a metagame actually works.
They’re the type of people that complain about Bayonetta in Smash but have no problem with Cloud or Luma.
Over here celebrating bans like the Smasher you are…
Sometimes banning options does actually increase the amount of viable options.
Let’s look at ST. Akuma is broken in ST. If legal, it would be akuma vs akuma almost all the time because he invalidated almost everyone on the roster. Yes you can win with skill using a less character but you are already putting yourself at a disadvantage by not doing so. Banning him allowed a much more varied xast that is viable than by not banning him
Put into a pokemon example: aegislash. Can you beat Aegislash? Yes. But he revolved the metagame around him to the point where the winner was the guy whose Aegislash won the speed tie. He made using anything that allowed him to switch in nigh unviable (like clefable and latios). And then on top of it, he had a set that would ruin his normal switch ins. By banning aegislash, the number of viable pokemon increased by about 20. Which allows for a more creative metagame.
Now your dumbass can’t seem to comprehend this logic. You have a hate boner for smogon And we get that. We dont need you scoffing at EVERY SINGLE MENTION OF IT WHEN SOMEONE ASKS A QUESTION. Most of the upper guys there are actually nice people. Jesus, people enjoy the meta they have so fuck you for hating on something people enjoy
Just because something is everywhere it doesn’t mean that it is broken or “uncompetitive”, or whatever other made up excuse they use to justify getting rid of things they don’t like to deal with.
For example, Cloud is everywhere in Smash 4… I hate his stinking guts and think everyone that uses him is cancer.
Is that a reason to ban him, simply because I’m tired of fighting him?
Maybe people like playing in a meta where mega metagross is banned? Maybe it’s more enjoyable. Pokemon cant be compared to fighting games cause it takes 6 mons to compete instead of 1 character. Banning is more subjective. Really wasnt what i was getting at
For pokemon, banning certain things could create a more enjoyable environment. Ive seen games where ohko moves and evasion is allowed. It’s all entirely based on RNG at that point. If that’s what you like fine.
Smogon wasnt to make it based on as much skill as they can without having a super centralizing enforcer around. Lando-T is on 45% of teams but that’s never getting banned cause it’s not broken. Dugtrio is only on 17% of teams but is going to get suspected because it removes counterplay And makes amy stallbreaker that isn’t lando-t, tapu bulu, or marowak a liability to use And forces crazy amounts of pressure by the guy not using dugtrio. There was a tournament recently in which the dugtrio users had a 100% win rate when dugtrio nabbed a KO. Nothing had that rate. All it took was 1 read or even a sacrifice.
You can play whatever you want to. Just leave us alone when we wanna talk about a meta we play
Lol skill in a game where games are decided on moves missing, a 12% critical hit chance, and random damage values.
Lol at something that only gets used 17% of the time getting banned before the thing you will see on almost half of all teams.
Just LOL
Lando t is the most splashable mon in the game for obvious reasons. Volcarona has less usage and is probably the 2nd best set up sweeper in the game. Usage doesnt entirely show how good a mon is, just how splashable that is
What is funny is I agree with both of you. Dugtrio usually leads to wins (although I have no problem dealing with it) when played properly. However i am one of the ones that would just like open season when it comes to the meta. Just let aegisslash and metagrosd run wild. Then again I play Pokemon as a casual person and not a mega competitive person. So from a casual standpoint I dont think I have a right to tell competitive seekers how to run a game based off competitiveness. Although I get what po is saying. You guys are never gonna see eye to eye tho. Too different extremes that will never come close to agreeing.
