Comp. Pokemon Thread MK2: Let's Go Back To Kanto Like Everyone Wanted!

Island scans aren’t from the alola region(natively) so they aren’t legal till post bank.

Island Scan mons aren’t in the Alola Dex, but they are technically in the game. This year’s VGC restricts usable mons to Alola Pokedex only+ no Box Legends/Mythicals/Mega Stones.

Thats interesting

Smogons prebank ladder allows them since you can catch them on the cartridge. Vgc and our tournament they are banned cause they are not in the alola dex.

Sr pokes are limited.

Where the hell can you catch it because I haven’t seen it in the Dex or on seribii, Pokemondb etc. I just used it on a Rain team so its usable along with Mons like staraptor and a few others

When are we starting these matches? I wanna battle someone, at least. Po’s duckin so it ain’t gonna be him.

@BullDancer wassup???

Ain’t nobody ducking you, fool. I’m not about to battle you with some in-game shit, have you win and talk a bunch of shit like you accomplished something, because I didn’t have time to breed a full squad.

Patience is a virtue, young one.

Make the team you said would beat mine, and come get this work. I don’t care when you do it…just get it done.

I work a full time job and i was able to make 2 full teams with back ups. What’s your excuse?

I don’t rush through the game. I take my time, explore, catch things, do my own research rather than wait for other people to tell me what’s good.

Daigo explains this very well in his book… Too many people are in too much of a rush to be good, rather than going through the process it takes to be good.

Which means trying new things, experimenting, researching, and losing, losing, and losing again in an effort to improve.

That, and I have Pkmn ADHD… I never stick to one team, strategy, or archetype for very long. I’ll get there, but it will be on my time and at my leisure.

I beat the game in a normal time (40 hours) and i was able to collect all tms.

Git gud

Narrowed down 10 sample teams I was using down to 3. Just playing for shits and giggles now, like this match the trainer panics–DC’s. Sometimes you need to think on your feet

There’s nothing left but to start building a SuMo team outta scratch. I could observe some more samples but I like to see what I can cook up before I do that. I started the ORAS metagame using D/P strategies, I thought it would be fun to see how much this metagame changed and I actually won a lot at the beginning. I think I started 11-1 or some shit, people just didn’t expect a mixed Dragonite, or a Trick Jirachi, or a Whirlwind Snorlax.

However, the power creep was too much. Mega Pokemon were punching too many holes into my team with their uber stats, the same pokemon that would probably 50% Roserade with just using tackle. I had little answer for that nonsense so I played top tier, it seems like by doing this though I get more DCs hahaha.

Maybe I’ll see what the ORAS Uber meta is like. Everything just one shot each other to death, I really do like that Sky Shaymin

@Ephidel Ubers is play Mega Groudon or lose. Ferrothorn is a good SR user, if you set up, it’s an uphill battle for your opponent.

It’s all in all a skillful format though. One mistake is death.

@“Phantom Angel” I’ll be happy to play in the next two days

I did that AND played through both versions working 44hrs /wk while juggling design projects and spending time with my girl.

I didn’t rush through the games either. Only thing I didn’t really touch was Festival Plaza.

I play other games too, like that Smash Bros game you, Mood, and the entire rest of the Smash 4 thread abandoned.

Using island pokescan Wednesday on melemele island will net you horsea, I saw somebody who made a chart:

Yes I went back to a team I like. I really tried using Toxapex but Tentacruel does everything need

More excuses!

I played other games too, like overwatch and a few others for let’s plays. :coffee:

First match: good job. You won because he had no hazard control and you abused it

2nd match: you are very lucky tapu fini was not the anti stall set. You have to remember the whole point of mega sableye is to prevent hazards going up. Mamo was burned so you should have made the switch into mega sableye over chansey to prevent his rocks. Your team is fat so you will have many opportunities to set up rocks. Great double switch into magnezone.

I didnt watch all 3 but i honestly dont think clefable fits this team at all. It was rarely used between both matches and did nothing. For stall in general, you are going to want dugtrio. That double switch from magnezone can show why a dugtrio on the team is dangerous. All he does is remove threats so you can keep stalling. Im not sold on gliscor on a stall team but he’s doing his job.

Also against tapu fini, remember that anything grounded cannot be statused so switch in ferro for it
