Hello Balrog mainers,
At Community Tierlist - overview you can see a brand new dynamic tierlist which is a combined effort of all people on the SRK character forums.
The goals of this web application is to get all people who main a certain character to give their opinion on that character matchups, and then to combine all that data in one overall list.
The idea worked pretty well when performed by the Rose forum (http://shoryuken.com/f277/rose-mis-fortunes-rose-match-up-poll-263465/), most users reached a consensus and Rose got a nice analysis that ranked her around 13th to 17th place, on par with the latest opinions on her by American and Japanese top players.
If all character forums take a small effort to go vote on their character we will get:

[] a per character average of matchups
[] a community-generated tierlist
[] a cross-matchup view on each matchup (as for example Balrog vs Ryu will be ranked both in Balrog view as in Ryu view)
[] and when enough data is provided: a statistical view on contested matchups, on agreed upon matchups and more!

Because this list is open, and inputs are sensitive I took a few measure to get better results:

[] You need to provide the forumcode of you character to validate your vote (provided here), so that you can’t simply click around and vote on anything you want
[*] The extreme votes are removed statistically (10% lowest and 10% highest are discounted)

Only voted on Vanilla characters considering I’m a Vanilla player with no SUPER experience - Hope this doesn’t mess anything up.
Also if I could make a suggestion, you should consider wiping mirror match votes to keep it an even 5 - I just checked the Balrog Balrog list and it’s marked as 4.7 which honestly makes no real sense as you can’t get more even than a mirror match.

Edit: I think I made a mistake when voting on Gouken, Sakura, and Adon. Those match-ups feel like they’re 6-4, Balrog’s favor. I voted sort of quickly.

I don’t see why you’d vote on a SUPER list with no SUPER experience.
This isn’t Vanilla. The characters aren’t the same. The info you provided is totally invalid.
Not trying to be a douche, but seriously.
It was done with SUPER in mind, I have seen countless amounts of matches and have read up on all matchup info and everything SUPER related in the Balrog Forums, beit individual opinion or my own from a visual standpoint - But again, I only voted on Vanilla characters with above in mind. You can only speculate so far so it’d be more unfair me voting blindly on SUPER characters (without having played against them) rather than half-blind against characters present from the Vanilla cast.
I’m aware of mostly all the character changes and how they effect Balrog - Still, if you feel that strongly that my view would still be invalid then by all means suggest that the OP remove my vote.
Just to give some examples - Sagat is clearly not the nightmare he was in Vanilla in terms of SUPER - From a Vanilla standpoint I would have voted more in his favour than I would SUPER so I gave a 4.5 knowing the matchup is somewhat easier now but still hold the view it’s slightly against Balrog.
Guile I gave an additional -.5 to because he’s without a doubt far worse in SUPER than Vanilla (I’d regard it pretty even in terms of Vanilla).
I’d have made Abel a flat out 5/5 from a Vanilla standpoint but with the addition of Breathless and general changes he’s definately (in my humble opinion) got a slight-flat advantage over Rog but not substantial enough to be much lower. Infact I’m well aware several Balrog Forum members have openly claimed extreme grievences in terms of the Abel matchup and read all the reasons why but I still have to reserve my own opinion - If we all reiterated what we see/hear/read in matchup info and regular tier lists then a Dynamic list would be pointless.
Again, just examples. I’d fully accept your post if I hadn’t done any research whatsoever or not even bothered to watch an absolute truck load of SUPER vids (not saying this excuses my choice to vote) but oh well. I’m only half defending myself, I don’t totally disagree with your point and some may still feel it’s totally unfair for me to vote, which is fine, I’m just here to help given the OP has asked us all for our opinion.

A fellow named Zenester called the Balrog/Guy match-up 4.5 Balrog. I personally wouldn’t peg that match-up any less than 6.5 Balrog. Any reasoning behind that, Zenester?
Wow this thread got no action. Honestly I just check the threads I’ve subscribed to like the matchup and combo threads. I’m sure others are like me and rarely if ever search through the entire Balrog forum. Anyway this post is just to bump it to the front page now that the list is out it might get some action.
Oh and I would invalidate anyone voting with Vanilla in mind such as Rope claims he did.

well to be fair, tierlists really are meaningless at the end of the day.
sure, they give you an idea where your player stands as far as skillset in the grand scheme of things, but if you lose to a bad matchup it doesn’t help if you only know it is a bad matchup. you have to know why it is a bad matchup. if I saw something that was like a 4-6 matchup, i would want to know WHY it is 4-6, not just that i would lose 6 out of 10 matches “in theory” i very rarely, if ever, look at tierlists because at the end of the day, even if i can’t beat someone who is a bad matchup, i lost.
the only reason i really see people actually using it is to make them feel okay when they lose a bad matchup, because they weren’t “supposed” to win anyways.
