simple you do meaty attacks so if they mash throw which no1 does anyways you will hit them since meaty attacks beat throws.

I use the command dashes for those reasons as well. But they work well as a mixup as I perfectly demonstrate in the video and in my other ones that I time correctly.

meaty>mashing

If your timing is not on point for some of these then you will lose to mashing

Alex - thanks for the heads up… I never used bMP as an AA that late because Im too scared of getting kicked in the face

Can you guys give examples of meaty attacks or commands? I’m new here so I don’t really know the terms much.

LK and MK command dashes can be reversal SRKed…yeah.

@klazzix- a meaty attack is when you attack someone on wakeup so that on their first frame of wakeup they have to deal with the attack, and must either use a move with invincibility or block to not get hit.

@wasted- if you are talking about reversal from wakeup then that may happen, but only if you time it wrong. If you finish the lk, mk, and hk dash before they have any active frames, then you can successfully block the reversal shoryuken.

Is it just me or does crouch tech kill CD games?

It probably does since I don’t think any of the command dashes have invincibility frames.

Frame trap them so they learn not to mash.

she has a billion ways to stuff crouch techs… and crouch tech<meaty if you time it well you block and your subject to tick throw mixups… and if you time it bad you get hit in the face.

In a block string situation you can just use 6MK or 6HK to stop crouch tech as they are both slow so if you do cLP, cLP, 6MK as a block string and they try to crouch tech after the 2nd cLP they will throw out a low short and it gets stuffed by 6MK because its slow enough for them to have pushed a button already and it beats low attacks clean

Crouch teching stops the random dash mixups cold tho… so does spamming jabs. If you try to take a string with no knockdown into a command dash it will likely fail. For example you do LP,MP,HP target combo cancel into LK or HK dashes and jabs or low shorts will stop you from dashing… probably even on hit… but you shouldn’t be giving up that hit without an untechable KD to start offense. All you need to do is keep hitting buttons if you get crossed up by a HK dash because the recovery is still not going to beat light attack spam

If you hit them with LP,MP,HP target combo then cancel into to dash, as long as you made contact (meaning they did not block it) you will be at an advantage, but if your target combo or any other attack you threw out before dashing was blocked then you?re at a disadvantage. I target combo in to HK command dash without being punished all the time. Sometimes I throw, sometimes I sweep, and sometimes I go right back into another target combo. That doesn’t mean it will connect, it?s still a reset but I have never been jabbed out of it.

Sometimes people let you get away with murder… Sometimes they do the right thing… If you do LP,MP,HP into HK dash ITS UNSAFE ON HIT! Now just because people don’t know how to deal with it now doesn’t mean getting hit in the face and holding d/b and mashing jab will win and everything else is already a combo. Take your damage and work with the knockdown once people stop letting you get away with murder.

I agree some peopel realy do let you get away with murder when your playing ibuki, I normaly use the same trick untill they figigure out how to block it and then i simply change it to counter their block that i know they will try. Ultra 1 is great for mind games while your dashing around them :clown:

Ya I agree now is the time to get away with shenanigans and no its not completely safe but if you 2 in 1 cancel into command dash you ARE at an advantage and can either throw or start a combo with CR. LK

Anybody ever command dash on wake up? Sometimes I get away with it and sometimes I get punished hard.

Ok whats a 2 in 1 cancel?

Command dash has no invincibility whatsoever so doing it in wakeup will lose to everything that touches you…

I think I finally understand why people on this board get so hostile

This is incorrect.

If Cicada’s frame data is still valid for command dashes, LK dash is 20 frames, MK dash is 22 frames, and HK dash is 24 frames.

After a cursory look at the frame data of her cancellable normals, none of her normals will leave you at an advantage from a normal -> Cancel LK Dash, let alone normal -> Cancel HK Dash which is pretty much required for there to be a good mixup game.

Command dashing on wake up means you’ll have to do it such that you’re finishing your dash a couple frames before they can actually do anything. This leaves you a couple frames to meaty or whatever, while they’re scrambling to figure out what they should be doing.

Sorry I didn’t mean 2 in 1 cancel, LOL. I meant if used as a 2 in 1 after a normal that connects.

And I never said it was a good idea on wake up, but since its still early i get away with it.
