mininova took off all the illegal torrents. for about 36 hrs they still kept the torrent pages in their database which would still allow you to download stuff as long as you knew how to ‘manually’ :bgrin: search it. but now they’re gone.

I use private trackers for really specific stuff, but TPB has worked fine for me forever.
Private Trackers are overrated and are pretty much pointless unless you’re looking for something extremely obscure. As for The Pirate Bay, the search engine is really bad. It often results in torrents that have no relation to what you’re looking for. It still gets the job done, though. And if anyone even mentions Usenet I’ll have to hyperbomb someone.
EDIT: I was thinking of isoHunt, not TPB, although it’s almost as bad.
