If you want to keep wolverine, I’d say the weakest link on the team would be sentinel. Unless you really love drone assist, xfactor level 3 sentinel is just a scrub smashing gimmick. You might want to put akuma in that third slot. If you have amaterasu, both magnus and Dante work in that slot perfectly.
Seriously though, Sentinel is dropping off people’s teams left and right, especially when akuma’s tatsu assist is right there and he’s much better on point (and more dangerous with x-factor too.)
I’m sure Byron will make some similar, albeit different suggestions.
Troll harder >:3 I haven’t had anything about the game ruin it for me yet, but I will say that AE has made me contemplate on just making Akuma my main and sub Rose. Against the twins and most of the roster, I’ll feel much safer playing him, Akuma’s got a real reversal and gasp an actual mix up!
@ AwardTour: I’m a bit surprised at your statement about Yun, considering I saw a lot of him on the stream. There was a bunch of people playing Yang between the two streams. So who would you say was the most played character at the tournament?

Hazama is so much fun that I LOVE Blazblue even more than I used to. Perhaps he shall become the new main? Have been surfing around the roster to see if there are any possible candidates to replace Valkenhayn. Though that may not happen, Hazama has definitely made me consider it.
Especially since a certain Platinum playing troll doesn’t play him anymore.
I want in some Blazblue today… so something needs to happen. If I have to make something happen on my own then I will try to. For those that have XBL and play Blaz, consider hitting me up. I need to test out this connection again, anyway. It’s been rather sketch as of late.
I need to get some casuals in with you guys. Ever since Darklight left for the summer the scene is pretty much dead in Charlotte. I don’t even know which game to focus on right now. The only time I play CS2 is when I play Ca$$iu$’ Carl and thats exhausting. I do well, but I hate having to be conscious of where that robot is every second. I’m trying to stick with AE Cammy but I just feel handicapped and I don’t feel like practicing new combos. I’ll probably main Viper for AE, but she’s average at best when I play her. The only game that excites me is MvC3 but I know I’m falling behind competitively. That doesn’t bother me because I don’t think you’re supposed to take that game seriously. lol
Yeah, I’m just happy for the players because they paid their dues in the league.
Id suggest putting Wesker 3rd and Tasky 1st for starters if that’s the order you were originally going with. Tasky does better on point than as an anchor imo. Your team dynamic could be Tasky playing like Cable and doing 1mil dmg combos by himself for any random hit you can convert into a full combo…or…combo into a TAC so that storm can do her DHC glitch. Wesker being an anchor and the benefits should be a given…now i do realize this strat doesnt have you playing like Cap, but why imitate someone who’s low tier?
For your Ammy/Sent team…well i guess for starters, you could run tokido’s team from this weekend and do Wolvie/Sent/Phoenix…or swap Sent out and put Ammy there…you just need some strong assist that helps wolverine get that one hit so he can kill 2 characters in a 10 second time span (should u want to run the same strat tokido did against justin). If you didnt go that route and wanted to choose b/t Dante or Mags…id honestly say go Dante…Mags is stupid good but has counters…Dante im still not sure has any legit counters yet…ive been learning him myself for that reason but i havent found a team i like yet involving him (ive been using Mag/Dante/Sent thus far but im not really feeling the team yet)
I originally had Wesker/Storm/Taskmaster in order to build meter and use the DHC glitch, but Taskmaster first sounds like it would be stronger. What am I looking to do with Taskmaster? I haven’t been watching any vids nor really playing many people outside of a buddy of mine that plays Wolvy/Tron/Akuma.
I really, really enjoy using Amaterasu. She’s by far my favorite character in the game, and I like drones because of how she can hide in them and extend combos. I was thinking Dante/ammy/Sent because they can still use the DHC glitch (starting with Dante), and some of Dante’s stuff looks like it would be fun to do. Who/what counters Magneto? Would Amaterasu/Sentinel/Phoenix work? Wolverine is pretty dirty and easy >.>
I think Taskmaster has the ability to counter Magneto if he’s played right (over time, this could change). Charging star negates disruptor clean and you can hit him with a super before he recovers (this isnt something ive had the ability to do in a match much since i havent practiced the timing but i know its possible). Dormmamu/Dante/Wolverine/Ammy imo can deal with him when a capable player is playing those characters…Trish might be able to as well but i havent seen that specific matchup occur very often honestly.
Can Ammy/Sent/Phonenix work? yes…is there a better Phoenix team possible? probably, but if you like the synergy your team provides, then id go with that. I dunno if ammy can touch of death a character as well as wolverine can, but im under the impression that ammy would build more meter in a combo.
What i typically do with taskmaster is this
zone with arrows (jump B arrows, ground A arrows, Ground C arrows mostly). your zoning options is based on what assists you have + where the opponent is or where you think the opponent will go
1b) should u guess wrong on your arrow and your about to be punished, either do counter and dhc tasky out or do an arrow super that covers the space you missed the 1st time
1c) should u guess right, either your assists can hit and you can extend your combo (depends on the assist in question + your position on the screen) or confirm straight into super (very easy to do)
attack with jump C, a/b/c string cancel’d into arrows if the pushblock occurs to take the chip damage you can get and reset the situation, and using Mighty swing in conjucture with an assist (Mighty Swing is NOT safe on block) and try to set up high/low situations.
with an assist that puts an opponent in block stun long enough (sent drones, hidden missiles, cold star, etc.), go for unblockables (you can definitely try to make touch of death situations on incoming characters with free unblockable setups if done right…a project im working on now)
THROWS (this stuff is good for taskmaster, the damage he can get is ridiculous…at jump height, an air throw can give you a otg pick up with your air C arrows and link into 5a, 5b, 5c, etc etc etc…if you have sent drones, u can do the whole air throw, (land), call sent, TK Air B+C arrow super, and then link a charging star off the last drone that hits…but there is a slight bit of timing involved with the combo).
Any time you see your opponent call an assist, you can easily do an air A+C super and take a huge chunk of damage off the assist (perhaps even the point character too)…this is why i say to play taskmaster like Cable…Cable in MvC2 would kill teams simply by hitting the point + assist character at the right time and having meter…taskmaster cant mimic it 100% but he can come close and a DHC could finish both characters off
I used to play tasky as a mix of rushdown and zoning but i think that im slowly phasing him into a pure zoning character and choosing my rushdown periods better (currently, im toying around with Tasky a-assist/Doom Missiles/Phoenix overdrive and am having some interesting results)
That would be our old venue trying to get back at us for choosing a better place over them. Personally we don’t even believe they can pull that off in the situation they are in.
@ LayZ: Since you’re trying to get some games in, you should come to CSC Battles 7 at Game Nation this Saturday. It would be nice to get some games in with you again and I can play my MvC3 derp team against yours
I’ll be having casuals tomorrow, so I can get some practice in before this Saturday’s tournament. Today, I’ll be sitting home doing some level grinding
