Wow, our Cola thread has gone down hill these last few months XD Seems like the SC Facebook groupis still more active than here and actually has FG discussion.
I’m having a New Years Eve celebration at my house this Saturday starting at 2pm. I’ll be providing some drinks, snacks and buying pizza for everyone. If anyone wants to contribute, then by all means do so (extra cups and chasers will definitely be needed) <3 I’ll also run a stream for it, if anyone’s interested in watching on my channel 
Brawl at the Beach 2is coming up on Feb 17th and hopefully most of you guys won’t miss out this time

Gonna close out the new year with a discussion question. May post it in multiple places in case you see it more than once.
What are people’s opinions on the concept of patches? I word it that way since I know there’s been comments about how Mortal Kombat’s patches affected its scene. It could be argued that the game needed it considering some of the initial concerns when released and perhaps a bit of overcompensating due to some of the problems MK vs DCU had that never got patched and trying to show their dedication to getting it “right”. Some games in other genres such as League of Legends patch rather often, though fighting games have different gameplay cycles and different needs.
It could be argued that a lot may come down to timing. There probably shouldn’t be any patches within the first month outside of hotfixes and the patches that do come out should be on semi regular and pre-announced schedules (quarterly?). With that, a game would have room to grow naturally and anything patched out would be in given time frames so tournament organizers and entrants could better plan for the changes. This also applies to DLC. I feel Day One DLC that’s actual characters should either be adjusted in the development cycle so it’s naturally part of the game or held off a few months. This could potentially aid the companies by maintaining a game’s momentum later in the life cycle, plus adding another revenue stream without customers feeling like they’re geting ripped off.
Guess I tend to have things on my mind from a development standpoint, especially with fighting games picking back up in America and more actually being made here.
