Columbia, SC: We Now Play A Bit of Everything

yo whats devestation

A major. I forget where it’s hosted. I want to say it’s in the midwest somewhere’s

Devastation is out in AZ. One of the first majors outside of Evo

Devastation is out in AZ and I wouldn’t be able to get money for the trip in time. For October, I’m looking at Season Beatings and/or G-Vegas 7. I’m also going to skip Impact Clash, so I can save more money.

If I’m lucky, I wouldn’t mind going to G-Vegas. Need to start going to (and getting my ass handed to me at) tournaments, anyway

OK, just got word that all Season’s Beatings info will be released this week. Get hype!

Anyone own turok rage wars I have a strong urge to play that game again

Oh, Marcus. We all know that you’re more skilled than you let on. Being an old man has nothing to do with it!

Seasons Beatings, though something I really want to go to, might have to take a back seat. Those of you that understand the situation probably know what I am talking about.

If I have the money/time around then, then I would be more than happy to attend. However, plane tickets are expensive…

man trying to lvl up this rain is hard theory fighter is not enough

Well last time, Dwaine and a few others drove up and split gas. We only need a hotel room for 2 nights, and any other nights we can stay at my place. I live an hour and a half away from Columbus. I’d say check to see if anyone is driving first. You don’t want to miss dat SB hype homie!

Rain is almost not worth the effort. He’s cool and his combos do a lot of damage, but good luck landing the combos against a standing block.

He can do nothing about that other than throw. NOTHING. Sure, he can do a low attack (which combos into nothing), but his mediums are so easy to see coming it’s not even funny.

If you want to level up your Rain, stop trying combos. He can’t rush down at all. Instead, try using Lightning to punish people from a distance, hit confirm into water bubble into combo. Or if you want to rush down, do 4,3 into Roundhouse since the startup leads the opponent to believe (the first couple of times) that the combo is done and you may score a free combo, plus a blocked Roundhouse is his safest move. Also use EX Roundhouse as an anti-air.

no i think im done but yeah im done using rain for now i like him but until im able to use him effectively he is on hiatus

Honestly, I wasn’t saying that because of age. I was saying it because I haven’t been actively involved in a fighting game tournament in almost 10 years. Too long, if you ask me…

So…Anderson is on the 20th. So who is actually going? I’m just going off the assumption that no one is going to Fayetteville again, but I could be wrong.

Comparing the stories I have heard about Anderson to my time in Fatetteville, I personally would rather attend the latter. However, being that I am on this money saving binge, I probably won’t attend either of them.

As much as I would like to, I just don’t see a point in it. Blazblue reasons aside.

I’m just attending ReSe in Charlotte, NC since I’ll be hosting the stream and limiting myself to one tourney this month. I’d also like to spend most of my weekends this month doing something not tournament related.

cant say ive ever heard of Anderson having any real problems…only one i can think of that sorta stuck out was in that comic book store, the tournament was held in this extremely small backroom so people were really clumped up watching/playing matches or not in the room at all…but its been a bit so i cant recall anything else (PM me these stories :smokin:).

regardless, I know i have a prior engagement with my group on the 20th in Ft. Jackson but im still gonna attempt to make it to Anderson if it works out.

Space will be a non-issue this time around because Kenpunch reserved the whole main floor the tournament. The highlight of the last tournament for me was when Me, Guide, Simplekiss, Keyon and Mike entered the BB tournament held there. Also, lol @ “that” section of thet comic store XD

well that section was at a convenient location considering it was like 5 steps from the room the tournament itself was being held in…folks need some “reading” material for that downtime…or perhaps we should call them picture books cause those who know…know that no one was looking at those magazines to read what they had to say…

I didnt think space was going to be an issue this time around so thats why im curious to know what else was spoken about this venue that was considered negative since i thought the space was the only bad thing.

I’m considering it. But I’m not sure if I want to drive 1hr 45mins (I know I’m lazy) to go 0-2. Any news on when the next tournament will be held here in Columbia? At either at Madness or Game Nation?
