It has been a while since I headed up a DDR tourney in these parts, and I think a new (fully functioning) machine (that’s hopefully Extreme) could help with bringing it back to where it once was.
That being said, considering most of the playgroup that we had has pretty much dispersed into wno knows where, and DDR is somewhat of a dying game (look up X and X2. Fucking atrocious), getting a tourney scene again will be very difficult. Don’t give up the dream, though… if it can be done, then dammit, we’ll do it.
By the way, you still owe me a rematch from way back. I beat you two songs to one, with your one being Yozuro no Muko. As long as you don’t pass out this time around (I’m so dissappointed you actually flamed out after Frozen Ray) it should be an entertaining match.

Justin in Myrtle Beach said he still goes to tournaments. I asked about Irish and Ruzel while I was at it. I don’t remember what he said about them, but I think he said one of the two was still around. I think you and I are the only advent DDR players around in this area, which makes me somewhat sad. As for everyone else, you kept in contact with them more than I have.
LOL What can I say, Marcus! I am out of shape as fuck and I think DDR would only bring more motivation to get me back into shape. Otherwise, I’m just gonna continue getting fat from playing BB:CS, SSFIV and Marvel 2. Just because I work in the stock room at a shitty store, doesn’t substitute for exercise.
Oh, when I passed out was when we got Maxx Unlimited on Random. That was -not- a fun day, Marcus. I had to pick Yozura no Muko against you to even make it 1-1! I mean… YOU DID PICK Paranoia Rebirth on me.
Rematch? Oh, I’m sure you’d smoke me, now. The me Then is much better than the Me now. We need to work on that. If DDR Proves to be a hit here at Madness, before I return to Canada Land, I’ll do what I can to revive that scene. For now, I have to give my support for the fighters. It is SRK, afteral…

Justin does still play. And I believe that Irish still plays as well. Ruzy… I’d have to ask about him again. I have so many rematches I need to do against all three of them.
I’ve been trying to get back into playing shape myself, finding random days off to go to Frankie’s (sad excuse for an arcade) to play some DDR/PiU. I’m hoping that machine comes in so I can play on fresh pads.
And I know this is SRK, so of course we have to help out the fighting game community. Honestly, ANY community is better than none in this city, especially since people that play anything are few and far between (or locked in their rooms fapping to hentai). So yeah, this is indeed what we (as in everybody, not just one group of people) need.

@ Eskay: I really enjoyed our matches as well. It reminded me of when we use to play BBCS all the time, before the scene quickly died. I can see that your Hazama has gotten better, so keep at it. I’ll definitely have to put in some practice with Noel, before we head to TP2010. I’ve also been practicing more Juri resets and she’ll more than likely be the character I use the most in ATL.
@ Thomas: I actually wouldn’t mind watching a group of competitive players go at it. I’m not even gonna pretend like I would join in, but I like to watch.
@ Cola: For anyone who’s interested, I’ve added a link to the Maddness Gaming site on the SC Tourney blog. I’ve also finished the interview questions for everyone the “Meet the Players” section and I’ll PM it to those who are applicable this evening. I’m also thinking about updating the “Games” section of the blog with more current/future titles like MK9, SSFIV, MvC3, AH3 and SF x Tekken. A few older games will also be taken down.
@Cola:that was probably the most fun I had in a long ass time. playing rock band with people that don’t suck is too fun. If I could see the song, I wouldn’t have sound like a zombie. I was dying on the drums from being lazy and too much :db: . We definitely have to play rock band again. I’ll try to buy that snoop dogg pack for next time. We need to find somebody with rock band 3. I want to play keytar dammit.
@Ben: Shaddy ass Korean. Those DP/Overhead/Swept matches were too funny. I think it is the new official troll game. We need to trademark this shit.

We should play Guitar Hero instead of Rock Band because the songs are more fun to play (read: harder) and I think multiple people can play the same instrument so there could be two people on lead guitar. Unless you guys just really like RB.

I was so bored today that I ACTUALLY read the first two Cola threads, lol. I swear there were 5 times more people posting back then, but 5 times more salty :-S Avatar, Icege and SonGohanX did more for the community than I realized, along with many others. I read everything from the iplaywinner features to how these guys were planning hard to make future tournaments here successful. I’m hoping that these future Maddness tournaments will bring more lurkers out like the past tournaments did before. Traveling, meeting new people and being apart of this community for the last year has made living up here in SC not suck.
