Since we’ve got three rooms now, I’ve canceled the request for a suite, which will make the price $40 per person.
@ Shimata/Panda_Guru: If you’d like, you can stay at my house on Wednesday night, come for the cookout on Thursday and then leave out with us on Friday. I wanna make sure you guys get practice in as well before FR.

TRIPLE POST TIME
The game is stupid so that all the characters can do damage and potentially kill a character as opposed to 4.
There’s still dumb stuff, but God damn, it’s been out for only ONE MONTH. Of course easy mode stuff is going to win. Run away trap teams were Godlike in MvC2 until people learned more about the game. Then rush down started. Push blocking pushes back extremely far in this game, but characters have been purposefully given tools.
Prime example: Felicia. She has no air game, no zoning capabilities, and low health. Her jump isn’t very good, she has to hold back for a second in order to cling to the wall, and all of her combos have different timing because of the hit stun deterioration. While somebody playing the Hulk can slam their face into the joystick/controller 6-7 times and do retarded amounts of damage.
However, Hulk has no answer outside of assists for getting in. Felicia on the other hand, has tools to get in and STAY in. Her entire game revolves around being close and FORCING people to make decisions. I’m still figuring things out slowly but surely, but I still think she can be competitive at a mid-level because of her combo flexibility (though the difficulty almost negates the flexibility), command grab + air throw (both lead to nearly 600k with 1 meter). I’m not even doing her reset shenanigans that she has possible.
tldr; MvC3 is stupid, but it was purposefully made to be stupid so that anybody can win. It’s maddening how easy it is to lose a character in this game, but if anything, it’s going to improve people’s defenses. Traps will only work for so long. If anything, it’s even easier to beat people that are trying to play trap teams in this game because once you put hands on a character, that’s a dead character. The hard part is not allowing them to set up their comfort zone.
Thomas: I’m the same way man. There’s nothing like getting into a made bed. It beats the Hell out of trying to tuck the bed sheets back under the mattress and get the comforter off of the floor at 3am.

Good Games to everyone who came by today and shouts out to Jimmy for makin an appearance. We’ve got to play Fight Night, when we’re drunk one night. I also Had fun trollin’ with Elliot in Mahvel and playin’ some BBCS. That SSFIV practice was also much needed.

@ Cola: Apparently, the team format for each game will be definitely 3v3 and the games are SSFIV, MvC3, AH3, BBCS and Tekken. If anyone wants to join AH3 teams, I’m all for it. Maybe it can be Me/Pat/Random Person. I don’t care…I just wanna play! Since Keyon/Thomas/Ben are gonna handle BBCS and take home the gold, I wanna play teams in something D: I’m not even gonna get started on SSFIV teams because SC is gonna be clawing at each other for spots, lol. BTW, teams is gonna be streamed!
@ Cola: Here’s an update on the room situation. Panda Guru can’t make it and Shimata is looking to room with Charleston. I was wondering it it would be alright, if we just broke the remaining three in my room (Jaguar, Pat, Keyon) into Dwaine’s and Eskay’s. So the rooms would look like this:
$35 per person
Room 1: AwardTour, Pat, Thomas, Ben, Mike and Byron
Room 2: Eskay, Jaguar, Keyon, Russ, SimpleKiss and Xavier
I need to know if it’s alright with Dwaine and Eskay to make these changes before I cancel my room. Otherwise, we can spread the rooms out like this:
$50 per person
Room 1: Jaguar, Pat, Keyon, SimpleKiss
Room 2: AwardTour, Thomas, Mike and Byron
Room 3: Eskay, Xavier, Ben and Russ
Of course if Dwaine gets the suite, then the cost will be more for his room and I’d prefer to spend that extra $15 on an entry fee for a game or food. I’ll leave that decision up to Cola.

Since I do not have 50 dollars to spare, due to the rest of my funds going to tournament entry fee, I am more favorable towards 35 dollars. More people in the room won’t effect me any. I’ll just know to bring my air matress and camp there.

So we’ve got 4 people who would be in favor having two rooms and I’ve also got one more proposal. It seems I misread J-Wop’s post, so he’s still gonna need a room. Eskay says he would be fine with have 7 people in his room. That would make the cost for his room $30 per person instead of $35. Once again, this is all based of of whether we have two rooms are not and my say is not final.
Summary:
2 Rooms: $35 for one room, $30 for the other
3 Rooms: $50 per person
Also keep in mind this price does not include a suite.
