The hotel will be 102 bucks for thursday til monday morning per person unless evo was too stupid to include the fees in the pricing, I’m assuming we won’t get screwed that bad, but if fees/taxes aren’t included plan on it being somewhere around 125 for the weekend, which honestly is not bad.
Please please please let me know if you want a spot, i can’t cram anyone extra in here this go round, the security is too tight at this place, so once this spot is gone, it’s gone for good kids.

Hi everybody…its been a while. Damn this site is gettin huge, its like every day is like the most users ever logged on. anyways…about sf4…
I wanna get really good at this game, and I want MW to be a big big name in it and not just hear about WC playin WC or WC playin EC. But I doubt i’ll happen. I doubt I’ll ever be able to beat any of the top players from EC and WC just because of the great competition around there, and if you’re not from there, I think it’d just be impossible because you can practice the game all day, but you can never practice defense in training mode and that’s such a huge part of this game. To really get good, I’d have to go to WC or Japan, man, i hope i can go again and get good at sf4 in tokyo like i did with 3s. But, after sayin that, i’m still totally down to roll with a bunch of MW dudes to all these major tournaments and act like we’re gonna mop the place up.
Anyways, I’m down to play anyone who wants to play, I’ll go down to STL if there is ever a pretty big gathering at someones place or w/e. I’m starting to get some good online games in with dudes, but nothing as fun or as technical looking as the games I get with my brother. But shit man, this game is fuckin fun as hell, I can’t stop playin it, and anyone that says its bad, probably loses a lot or hasn’t played the game enough to know what its about.
I mean, the way I see it, I think the game hasn’t even been played long enough to make a real decision about how good it is. With all you can do with focus attacks and crazy backdash escapes, I think this game could look a lot different in a couple of years or so. Like with 3s, people do all the crazy shit combo’s by taking the games way of understanding inputs and using the leeway they give you to do stupid shit like charge partitioning. I don’t think people have totally figured out everything you can do to exploit the new input system.
I don’t get why some people hate the game so much so early. I mean, I didn’t play 3s when it first came out, but alex valle said that people hated it. I feel like some people are doing the same thing now with this new game. Either way, I don’t really care, I’m just happy as fuck I’m seeing the game everywhere; on TV, posters, my friends that dont know shit about street fighter are playin it. I mean the shit is so damn popular and thats THE very best thing about it. Even if the game was garbage I’d be playin it just cause of all the competition you can get. I hope America can become somewhat good at this game to maybe deal with the japs, but man, I really highly doubt it…

shekeib- hey, i’m from stl. i moved to columbia for school this year. i want YOU to hit me up for some games. i heard you and your bro? were good at 3rd strike. i think we can help each other out with sf4. i’m definitely one of the best sf players to come from stl, it’s just i haven’t had enough time and practice to play sf4, i don’t even have the game :(. but i think since you were good at 3s, we can get better. i’ve played the game for a total of 3 days while i went to visit stl but with more time, i think we’ll get as good or if not better than the stl cats. they just play the game a lot right now.
i think if you really wanna get better at this game, i’m your best competition in columbia, besides your brother.

That’s what I’m talking about. But I think you can’t sleep on the MW that much man, we’re getting a lot of comp from this game. Maybe not the same experience level comp, but it’s still pretty good and will get better. You are right, though, about needing to travel.

Good shit columbia, you guys should throw a tourny sometime. If we could get a kinda rotating schedule between stl, kc, columbia going that would be tight. Shit like that always brings out fierce comp and allows exposure to more players. STL tourny early april, KC having one mid/late april, a columbia tourny would fit in nicely before MWC.

no hookup this past weekend? pretty lame. does anyone actually like playing sf4 in columbia? i see all talk but no action. people claim to wanna get good at this game but no one is taking the time to try to get anything together. i was down to play for most of the weekend but i never got a call. i don’t care if it’s 1 on 1 session for games. i tried makin an effort to get games in this weekend, no one picked up.
i don’t mean to sound arrogant or full of myself or anything but yall aren’t taking advantage of this situation. i’m a veteran sf player. one of the best in the midwest area and yall don’t even try to get games in with me? that’s like living in nyc and not tryin to hit up justin wong for games. the potential is right here in columbia guys…i wanna get better at sf4, this is the one game i’m not that dominant in yet because i haven’t PLAYED much.
sorry for being kinda upset but i really wanna get good at sf4 and not fall behind, you know? i lived in stl for most my life and i have always been one of the best there at any game i put my effort into. they play CONSTANTLY, and they are progressing at a really good rate. i don’t wanna be losing to them when i go back simply because i haven’t played the game enough.
Alan - I’ll hit you up whenever I come into Columbia. People usually only get hookups going when I come into town, for whatever reason. The last time I was in town, we played at Shekeib’s for a while.
