I have some terribly unfortunate news. Some blunderfuck asswipe has kept me from coming to Columbia on the 6th because - he had to have that day off - why they chose me to work on a Saturday night (when I already work mon-fri), essentially preventing me from going, I have no idea.
This same dipshit may also be the one who gets in my way if I can’t go to Ohio. Motherfucker has asked off for NO FEWER than 25 days so far this year ALONE, including ALL of Memorial Day weekend. We’ll see how that develops, but if I miss Ohio because of this Genetic Failure, there’s a big chance you’ll see me on the news.

This is a good opportunity to see high-level play for a bunch of different characters… I’m OK at the game but there’s only so much you can learn from just one guy. When you think about it May 27th is still four weeks from now; you seem to learn enough from playing occasionally that I really think you’d be able to get a lot out of it by the time we get there.
Are you talking about Virtual Arena? I’d be willing to give them a try. I’ve heard from people who’ve been there that it sort of sucks… Paul haven’t you been there?

Yeah, it has potential but it all seems wasted, honestly. There are a bunch of tvs and setups, but the place is more like a dungeon than Wreck Room was and the first time I went there wasn’t the best first impression for a number of reasons. Apparently only one of the owners knows a lot about games, but I guess that wouldn’t really affect us much.

EDIT: Shekeib, the tourney will be in Columbus Ohio, which is 8 hours away from Stl…so a straight drive from here would be about 10 give or take

Edit: Does it bother anyone else how we send our best players out to Japanese nationals, they lose, and now the entire US scene wants to piss and moan over how the US sucks at everything? What could you possibly stand to gain by taking that attitude?

Americans going to SBO to play 3S is like Japanese going to Rucker Park to shoot hoops. There are eight year old girls over there that probably play better 3S than us.
It’s the distribution of competition- something that wouldn’t be a problem if America was the size of Texas.

I think it was a mix of the Japanese and some bad luck for the American players. I really didn’t think that both US teams would get OCV’d in the first round, especially after the improvement I saw from the WC in the Ranbats. I still think that an American team can make it to the semifinals as I thought they would this year.
They need me,Butch,and some ramdom power house like Justin Wong, Ricky,Pyro,or Amir.
Justin would be better if he had more knowledge of the game but his reaction time is on par with Japan. I really think we would have done better than that, we fight Chun Li a lil better imo. Well at least Butch does. Then u gotta add the fact that that shit was single game. Justin always gives Japan a run for their money if he has two chances.
