I’m thinking of taking a longterm break from this whole fighting game thing, if you guys have get-togethers or want help running brackets or anything let me know but I’m not down for serious play right now.

Hey 722 do you go to MU? Does anyone else go there? Just curious. Since this is my first post I’ll introduce myself. My name is Shohaib, Shekeib’s older brother. I’m majoring in Biological Engineering and Mathematics at MU. I would play more if I had time. I have a serious case of senioritis and would love nothing more than to be done with school. I’ve always liked role playing games but I see now the fun in playing fighters.
Yeah, I’m a student at MU; so is Pacman. Have you been to the arcade at Brady Commons? No fighting games but T5, it’s weak 
I’m majoring in history right now (although I’m technically still undeclared A&S…) but I’m planning on switching to something where almost none of the stuff I’ve taken so far applies, so I get to be in school for the next hundred years or so.
That’s why I’m taking a break from playing regularly, too, I just don’t have the time.

I was just wondering what fighting games Gunther’s has to offer, just in case I decide to make the trek over to Columbia. I guess I’m a little crazy for driving two hours east just to see some ST and 3s offline comp, but it beats getting owned in Marvel every weekend.

I’ve seen crazier. I guess I should say I’ve been crazier.
Gunther’s has ST, 3S and #R (hopefully Slash will be on the way soon). There’s also MVC2, SCII, TTT and some SNK games but nobody plays those. Josh was talking about putting Alpha 2 in, it might take the place of one of the non-3S-non-#R games. I think Guilty Gear is the biggest game here, then 3S then ST, but 3S might get the most play now.

Good games to all I played at Gunther’s this past Thursday. I haven’t played ST, GGXX#R, or Tetris in a long time, but I had a great time getting beat on! I know I will be coming to Columbia again on Monday to pick up my our new puppy from the Columbia Humane Society so I may be able to get some games in before then.

As far as I know if you get this you’ll be the only Slash in the Midwest (Doug told me Chicago wasn’t getting it, I haven’t heard from Nebraska yet). Just something to consider.

Yes, hopefully in the next tournament I’ll get to play the people I missed the first time. Namely 722, AKA (If he shows up), and Jaren. I don’t like playing Josh or Shekeib, they have me figured out! Also I understand that we haven’t been at gunthers in the past 3-4 weeks, but when school permits we will return (Shekeib relies on me to get to Gunthers).
