No, I haven’t been making with the leaving yet.
Thems was good shit tonight, guys. We should do fight nights on a semi-regular basis. Doesn’t have to be my place every time though
Josh: Serious props. Just my opinion, but you can probably get away with playing a whole bunch of characters in #R just like you do in other games. I am buying a burner of my own soon, don’t let me forget to hook you up with vids when I do. See if you can get Nick to post here or at least read the thread. And in case he does:
Nick: Thanks for bringing the XBox over. You are pretty good; I’d like to play you more often if you’re interested in the game. If you’re looking for stuff to learn, I can get you some Japanese match videos so you can get a feel for how a bunch of different characters play.
All you other fucks, I… don’t think I played you.
Eh, it wouldn’t have mattered man…we played a few days ago and I’m still not playing well.
Josh: Nice job man. Axl is damn good and yours has gotten better since the months ago I played you. props
Jon: you hardly read this, but for now you are my master. I think I’ve gotten one win on Venom in the last two meetings we’ve had and none on Pote. However, I did manage to smack down Zappa pretty hard at the end. :badboy:
Either way, I’m really frustrated with #r right now because I feel like I’m having to relearn the entire game again, and I don’t know where the mental block is coming from. On the upside, I’m losing some of my old bad habits; but on the other side, I’m just getting hosed in some situations. It really sucks.
And now I’m thinking of trying to get into 3S, if for no other reason than to play Shotos…they have always been my favorite characters.
Andrew, you should get Billy on here as well so we can, you know, have an active thread :lame:
Paul: I think you’re getting frustrated too easily, loosen up. You want my advice, try a completely new character. I know a lot about most of the cast so if you want help I’m available.
Even though this is a bit late…stop hating (ALL OF YOU).
I like how games can make or break friendships in this community.
Josh, do you usually download the #R vids off of a-cho? Do you already have all of them, or should I put some on the disc for you?
Who wants to play #R and 3S this Sunday?
I think I’m down for some of that
I’ll get sum dat
Well where the hell were you? Andrew and I were totally down.
Nevermind that, what about tonight: Monday Jan. 10th ? I’m down, I hope andrew, paul, and Jon are too?
Those were some fun matches man. Next weekend and even monday is fair game for me since it’s a holiday and I finish work at 4.
So Josh, Paul, you really think my Bridget is that much better than my May? I didn’t think so but after tonight I’m not so sure. I feel like I do less retarded shit with May, whereas Bridget wins because he’s made of lies. May’s got a lot more matchups where she’s fighting uphill though, where Bridget’s got more tools – evasive 2K, FRC dragon punch into horseshit, easy burst catches, etc. I dunno. I don’t know which character to play if I go to TS5.
I think you should stick with Bridget simply because your May, as you said doesn’ have the experience. That’s why your Bridget is still stronger methinks…you know almost every possible situation with Bridget and what to do in it. Your May still suffers from ‘wtf do i do now?’ occasionally, and that can mean a lot when you’re playing in a tourney
However, if you get a lot of practice in before TS5 (if you can go) May might be a good choice. Both are characters rarely seen, so either way you’re kinda at the advantage
I’ll have to agree with Paul on this one. No offense to your May, but when I was playing you at Col you kept beating me because I kept falling for stupid shit, like I never blocked low after a j.H, so you got a free 2D, dolphin (FRC) combo. I think you have much better mixup with Bridget, and the frustration factor you’ll get against most people should put you over the top. Also, since FlashMetroid won ECC with May, people are probably going to be on the lookout for May players.
Keep playing Bridget, end of discussion. Get more experience with May before you make a decision to bring her out in a tourney. Remember what happened to me when I brought out Robo-Ky a couple times at MWC? Yeah, it’s amazing I got 4th at all with poor decisions like that. The only person I beat with Robo-Ky was KLT, and I think that’s because May can’t do anything special about that matchup.
Back to the point though; matchup knowledge is far more important than getting that fresh high that only comes from beating people up with a new character. It may seem like you win a bit more easily with May at the moment because other people don’t have that matchup experience. Once they get more ideas on what to do (and they start working), you’ll be wishing for your more intelligent character because you’ll have an even better idea of what to do.
Keep playing Buri. Granted, there aren’t enough good May players - but if you stop playing Buri, there’ll be NEGATIVE good Bridgets.
Peace.
Which character has more bullshit to fall back on? Bridget. Who doesn’t know anything about the matchup? Americans.
There.
… Andrew, to obi-wan you listen. :karate:
Andrew’s Bridget = Lockdown, flowing/don’t even have to THINK!, mix-up, good priority.
May = well … she’s kinda … well you know … gay. :wow: She’s still very effective, just not as resourceful as bridget, and your may lacks the “flow”, aka the ability to win/destroy w/o even thinking.
“Feel the flow Happy, it’s circular. It’s like a carousel, you pay your dollar, it goes up and down, and around, all good things”
Bridget. Simply because you have more experiance with him then May at the moment. I think you do great against my Testament with both of these characters but your May leaves me with more chances to escape rushdown. It’s just a matter of practice.
Scott – it was actually after you guys came over that I stepped up my game with May, because I realized I wasn’t really doing anything insightful or clever to win – just autopiloting, and the only reason it was working at all was because we were burned out from playing for two days straight. She different now.
Good gravy though, lookit all the replies. I didn’t mean to be an attention whore ;-; Looks like May’s gonna be second-string for a while. I can’t execute her on non-perfect sticks, too, that’s always a factor.
Aaron – GOOD GOD. May vs. Robo-Ky. I want to play you again just to see if that matchup is as brutal as it felt. My May is a lot smarter now, but I still don’t get WTF you’re supposed to do to tin-man. I have some ideas… but I need to actually try them.
Hi.
I’m wondering if any of y’all know where Cape Girardeau is? I might be going there, and I was wondering what the scene looks like. All I know is that it’s 100 miles south of St. Louis, but I’ve only been to Kansas City before so I don’t know where all the Missorui cities are in relation to each other
