Also I called a bunch of hotels… I found some pretty good ones. They told me that the sooner I reserve them, the better. The ones you had Andrew, Hampton Inn and Drury Inn both wont work. Drury Inn doesn’t have any event or meeting rooms and Hampton inn requires at least 10 hotel room reservations to use an event or ballroom.
Holiday Inn Select is a 4 star hotel and they have a room that could fit 35, meaning we could fit 50, for about $300, but we have to reserve it soon. Its also close to the mall. But $300 is a lot.
I was wondering what we should charge. I think 10 bucks per player and 10 bucks for every game sounds good. Cause that hotel meeting room can get pretty expensive.

I could lend to use my Slim Ps2 if I’m promised a new one if mine breaks in the tournament (you can never be too careful). Slims are fragile, one drop and it’ll crack in half.

I don’t think $300 is unreasonable honestly, might be mutually exclusive with pot bonuses though. How soon do we have to reserve it? Is there a way we can check the room out first? I’ll look into fronting the money if necessary.
George, if Josh doesn’t want to team up with me I’ll play on your team. Also, if you have any interest in Super Turbo, Anniversary Edition is actually waaaay different… CCC2 is honestly the way you want to go. Also, you won’t need to reserve a hotel room if we go with the Holiday Inn. Players will be expected to bring their own shit but there are usually a few sticks and stuff drifting around at these tournaments and there’s usually some joker who shows up without a stick (usually me).

I can probably help out with some of this. I have a copy of slash that could be used, and possibly a tv (although it’s only a 19 inch :sad: ). Also, we need to play sometime soon; when are you normally free?
George, I dont’ know if I could refund you on that PS2, but I’ve been to a lot of tournaments and I’ve never had anything stolen or lost. Just write your name on your stuff with permanent marker and don’t leave it sitting around. No one will be able to steal a PS2 if its connected to a TV and if your name is on it they prolly wont try shit. Plus, Shohaib will beat the shit outta anyone who steals shit. But if you really feel uncomfortable bringin it, you don’t have to.
Also, You don’t really need to save any money for this. You will not have to reserve a hotel room and you probably don’t need to buy anything. You’ll probably need around 30 bucks for entry fees and thats about it. I’m just askin for people to volunteer and let us borrow stuff. All you really need to bring is money for registration and money for each game you want to enter (Which will prolly be around 10 bucks for each game and 10 bucks for registration) and a stick or controller.
Paul, since you have slash, you have a jap or modded ps2, right? That would be helpful, unless you feel uncomfortable bringin your ps2 which is understandable. Yeah, we do need to play sometime. I think I’ll be free today, since schools cancelled. I can usually play during the weeknights, I leave town a lot on the weekends. I heard somethin about a weekly meeting at MU on wednesday? That sounds like a great idea, we should all try to play every wednesday. Paul, just tell me what weekday your free and I’ll prolly be able to play. Same with everyone else.
Andrew from KC, we could use a copy of 3s for ps2 and Capcom Classics Vol 2. If you have Slash that would be cool too. The TV would be good to bring, but how big is it? We have a spare RF cable, which reminds me, 722, you still need that RF cable, we bought one in Los Angelas. KrushGroove, it’d be great if you could bring your PS2. If its modded or jap that would be even better. Again, if you don’t really wanna bring it, you don’t have to. I don’t want anyone to feel forced to bringing stuff.
Andrew from CoMo, I’m not sure when we have to reserve the hotel event room by, but we have a lot of options to choose from and we should look around before we pick one. I mean, wouldn’t it suck if we reserved the $300 one and then find out that there are barely any power outlets? We should visit them first and then decide. I’ve got quite a few hotels on my little list, I’ll PM it to ya.
