I was down in columbia Friday night and talked with Paul about the players in and around Columbia at the arcade… the name I forget. My trips down to Columbia will be sparce at best while i get things sorted out with school starting again and dealing with work, but I’d like to get in some game time.
I’m mainly a 3rd strike player. I will play mvc2, but the highest tier character I use is either guile or Zangief. I have some tekken background but I ended up putting all my efforts into III. I hear you guys travel to tournaments and if I fit it I’d like to join. I know I need more practice in vs but my knowledge of III isn’t poor. There’s no comp up here and I know I need that if I have any hope of doing anything in evo next year.

If you are into Third Strike this is a good place to find competition; Shohaib, Shekeib and frog213 are all talented 3S players. I’ll play it some too, but I’m definitely not on the level they are… other than that I think Marvel is the only game we don’t play at least a little of.
Shekeib: Second hit of Anji’s 236P hit high in previous versions of GG. He was based around unblockables involving the move, but still sucked ass. I don’t know why they decided to add the unblockable back in…
Chipp should have reverse Guts, where he takes very little damage at the start of the round and then all of a sudden takes 200% damage later on. It’d be sweet!
air potemkin buster sounds hilarious. from what i’ve read, it’s not really a throw but a unblockable. i wonder if people will figure out ways to combo into it.
he supposedly can’t combo or hammerfall brake for okizeme off potemkin buster anymore, though. that’s kind of weak.
reverse guts would be kind of funny, but wouldn’t that possibly result in lots of death combos 10-20 seconds in to the match?

I got a chance to talk to the girl who’s running the DDR club and apparently MU’s guidelines for student organizations have sort of changed. She forwarded along an email she got from the guy in charge of student organizations… we need an answer to the following:

Is your organization intending to participate in any behavior that would not be appropriate to the MU campus either because of location constraints or because it would violate M-Book, University policy, or any federal, state, or local laws?
Seems pretty simple to me, I do worry about question 3 though… there’s some club on campus that like does Halo tournaments or some shit, I wonder if whoever is in charge will think it’s basically the same thing. Anyway, after these get sent back, the dude in charge of the operation has to set up a meeting with whoever’s running it. I guess I’ll take care of that, unless anyone here thinks they’d do a better job talking to the student association people.
edit: Another thing I noticed is that we need officers. I guess I should spend some time looking into bylaws and draft something like that up, the only offices I can think of are president and treasurer and I’m sure we’d be required to have more than just that…

a) no whiff animation
b) you can follow up with whatever you want, so yay free B&B
The input is 4SH, so I guarantee you it’ll have a whiff animation. It’ll probably be cool. The only thing I don’t like so far is breakable throws, GG throws have so little range and blockstun throw invincibility is so long that if you’ll notice, most of the time you do a successful tick throw you hear the other guy tap back hardslash really fast. I probably won’t have trouble adjusting though, and I sure won’t miss getting thrown four thousand times by Dizzy…

I like how Anji players are already crying, lol. They take away the broken-ass floorbounce on Shin and Rin but give the unblockables back and suddenly he’s garbage again? Uh-huh. They said their goal is to make every character stronger in this game, the same way that Slash made every character weaker… that’s kind of scary.
