Sooo… anybody here mess around with ST on GGPO? I think it’s a stretch since you have access to the arcade version and enough skill to keep each other entertained, but I’d like to play you guys again in some shape or form before the St. Louie tourney (assuming anybody from CoMo is making the trip).

hey Guys, Ive posted a few noob things in the AH thread and some pad hack questions, but this is my first post on this local thread.
Basically , Im a friend of Andrew’s from back in out DDR days, and was once heavy on the SC2 Scene in Como (MonoxBoogie for those who remember) Anyways, with Andrew leaving soon that means i have no one to play fighters with, so im here to meet some new friends! (and hopefully catch up with some old ones!)
I play AH and GG (suck at both tho) But im down to play pretty much anytime! So if your bored or someone i used to play with back in the day at Gunthers, Drop me a line here or a PM for my number!

lol, Nick, I just saw you were posting about GG throws in the BlazBlue thread… let me explain how that works.
Basically throws come out in zero frames, so if you time a throw perfectly as you’re getting up and the other guy’s in your throw range, you’ll get the throw, even if they have an attack out over your body.
That’s why after you knock someone down, you want to try to stay out of their throw range on their wakeup unless your character has some kind of throw-bait (like May’s standing kick or Jam’s forward hardslash). Really mashing on throw on wakeup and during pressure strings is, like, a beginner’s mistake, but tons of people don’t break that habit and so when you’re starting out you need to learn a bunch of ways to bait throws. Plus focusing on that will make you execute your offense a lot tighter anyway.
I have no idea what those guys are talking about with “GG throws are better than 3S throws” though…
