No games at my place tonight, I’ve got a bigass translation to finish.
The Super gun is done… again:rolleyes: If anyone wants to play tonight at my place around 10pm to 12am(or later?) just post up. Paul, Nick, James, anyone else? I can try to leave a little earlier from work if anyone is interested in playing.

I feel bad that I live here, and I don’t know who is who. =(
Monique’s seeing a cool documentary on Lightning - a Neil Diamond impersonator - whose wife and second half of the act, Thunder, was hit by a car while gardening in her yard.
Josh you thinking about coming with us to STL?
So I was watching some dude play SC2 the other day and he ran into a Conquest mode Cervantes named “SNUGS” and I was like “hey I think I know that guy…” then he ran into another Cervantes named “FUZZY_SNUGS” and I was like yep I sure do
True story
what’s good on games tonight? Anybody wanting to play, or should I just stay home and play Phoenix Wright 3 and Patapon again :lovin:
You should come up here and we’ll start drinking now til our flights leave for FRXI
I keep on forgetting the other characters that aren’t my first.
The first character I picked was Maxie since he had a Bad ass nunchucks, but then I switched to Cervantes, my first Maxie was 619, because I was like, 10 and Rey fucking Mysterio was so pringles. So I ranked up over 500 wins with that guy.
Okay, I’m brand new to these boards, so hi. I found this through a google search.
I recently moved here to Columbia, MO and was trying to find an arcade, when I heard of Gunther’s Games. However, I found that I’m too late, and it has closed down…
My question is this: Does anyone know WHY it closed down? Or perhaps knows the owner? I’m asking because I was planning to start my own arcade here, but an arcade closing down does not bode well for my chances…
Sounds good yo. That’s what Thursday before FR will be for:lol:
Remember to bring that DC converter! :bgrin:
I am the person you want to talk to. I went to Gunther’s a whole lot as a kid and managed it up until its closing. The CURRENT owners of the property didn’t know much about “the biz” and were only interested in the real estate. They weren’t interested in keeping it an arcade so there wasn’t a lot of money being spent on games or… anything. They were just “riding it out” until someone came along and bought or leased the property. I would love to talk arcade games/business w/ you in a format where i don’t have to type:bgrin: Hope that helps you out a little.
Funny that u showed up now, Columbia is going through somewhat of a business transition. Some older businesses have closed, and some new things are opening. Mostly more restaurants:woot: (that’s a sarcastic woot BTW)
Welcome to Columbia. Where are you from BTW? Any chance you play Street fighter/fighting games?
I’m done:sweat:
Hey, how’s it going Josh? Gosh, it’s late. Anyways, since were on the topic, did you ever hear about Chuck E. Cheese selling liquor to try to compensate for their lack of customers  Do you want to play some 3rd strike this weekend, me and all the other midwest crew? Sorry, too many damn names to remember :arazz:
Well, my main concern is that if the arcade failed due to lack of customers, it would be next to impossible to get a loan to start my own. (Not to mention, if one failed that was as popular as this one seemed to be, it would be a monumentially bad idea!)
Yeah, I noticed there’s about five restraunts every four locations… laughs That’s what you get when you have three colleges of people who don’t want to cook. ^_~
I worked at an arcade for two years in Florida (Aladdin’s Castle in Orange Park Mall) and was set to be the next manager, until the mall decided that arcades “weren’t part of Simon Mall’s ‘image’” anymore.
It’s been a while since I played Street Fighter. About a month before we closed, we got a 3rd Strike machine, but the color was off on it, and I never picked it up. I did, however, play a lot of SC2 and MvC2… I wouldn’t say I’m tournament level, by any stretch, but if I were to get back into it, I’d be pretty decent.
Also play a lot of Melee, but I don’t do the wavedashing stuff. Have beaten a couple wavedashers who forgot that it doesn’t make them invincible.
aye guys, lemme know what the word is on some 3s im off til sunday
Hey, Josh and I are probably playing tonight (and anyone else who wants to), and although I mostly want to play Gear and ST because I’m practicing for Final Round, there might be a little 3S going on.
Heyheyhey, SC2. There’s a killer game.
Have you played Brawl yet? One of my classmates has a Japanese Wii, so she imported it when it came out over there and I’ve gotten to mess around with it… wavedashing and L-canceling are gone if you didn’t know.
David - Well, if you picked up your phone:rolleyes:. j/k man, It would be cool to have you over.
It would also be cool to get some 3 TV action going at my house tonight.(Arcade/DC, PS2/GG, NES/RBI). Maybe I can get Ben, Eric, and Westergren to come too?
Paul - Friendly reminders: Can I get my DC thing back? Also can you bring TM: BLACK? And finally, don’t forget the glove. I might go to STL with you, but when are you leaving?
Andrew - are you done w/ your translation? I want to play some GG and 3S wit chew.:lovin:
I SHFFL forward, forward throw, WoP, dead. See Wave Dashing doesn’t make you invincible, it’s just that you could of escaped throw if you wave dashed back =)
Whiner. I guess :lovin:
Leaving pretty soon after work tomorrow, like 5.30-ish. It’s all on you if you want to come
