Pink is for real men.

grandabx: UtilityKeys: d3v:There are a few legitimate reasons for not including color edit, such as not allowing players to create color combinations that are possibly distracting.
I’ve heard stories of something like this being a problem with the Capcom Vs SNK 2 EO release on Xbox. Because that release had an online mode, in a game that already had a Colour Edit mode and a stage which was mostly desert. So players would craft all-beige/light-brown edits for their favoured teams, go online, pick the Nairobi stage, and wreak havoc. I don’t know if this is actually true, maybe one player’s edits weren’t visible to the other or something like that, but even as a hypothetical situation it raises some concerns.
Personally, I don’t see a problem with games, especially 3D games, like SFV having a system where the colour options are kept fairly simple. I mean, don’t do the neon shit from SFxT. No-one needs that, keep it tasteful. But if people just want to give Ryu a pink headband, let them have the pink headband. It’s a manly colour, so do that please, Capcom (though I think they’d much rather go the route of releasing extra palettes as DLC, which would be a pretty respectable decision really).
Pink is in NO shape or form a masculine color. Just because the government (the same government that made same sex marriage legal nationwide) is spending money to promote it doesn’t make it right. When children were being born, they were color-coded: Boy = blue & Girl = pink. Practically all female toy boxes were pink (like Barbie) and the boys had all kinds of action sequences on them. Being “trendy” now isn’t going to work with me at least.
You sound like you’re scared of something.
Yeah, the fruitiness being gradually placed into people’s mindset. Saggin, skinny jeans, pink, earrings in both ears…what’s next?
Why are you trying to resurrect your month old thread dude? We agreed and/or disputed your custom color edit thing and now you’re just randomly being a dicknose about the color pink. Where’s my WTF button?

I only encountered that shit once. Most of the time, people would play with color edits that acted as a faux nude mod. Which d3v mentioned with “all flesh colored ones”.
Shit was pretty simple. Just write the RGB values down for the skin palletes, then apply them to the clothing palletes. This method worked best for Cammy, as her skin-tight leotard leaves no room for errors; her Spiral Arrow animations do the best job of showing her nude ass.
But I also made Akuma pitch black. The way he should be. :karate:

This thread has seemingly run its course and gone quite off topic just because of someone bigoted opinions. Unless you can somehow steer this thread back on course and prevent the eventual unpleasantness that is already rearing its head, we’re going to have to lock this thread.
With all of these fighting games coming out, companies are going to have to differentiate themselves by providing the best package of options. Why not start with these modes?

They could just have people register colors if they want to use them online. Offline would be no limit, but online could be policed by having a code given for that specific custom edit.
Even with the people making “nude” characters, the amount who does is way surpassed by those who don’t. After playing a bit of SC4 and SC5 online, I found more near nude male characters than female ones. Lots of balling ass costumes though.
How great would it have been to have Marvel with classic tracks?
No more power drill noises for Doom and Cap Am
Swap out the Power Rangers intro to MSH for Logan
Give Spencer that sweet ass theme that Jake Kaufman made or him that’s in Bionic Commando 2009
The list goes on…

The obvious answer is that several games sell alternate palettes as DLC. In particular, if you’re 2d you don’t have many other options for character looks monetization.

Fun fact about birth colors: Pink used to be for boys and blue for girls until the 1950’s or 60’s, with the logic being that pink is closer to red, which is an aggressive color, and blue is passive and soft. Just putting that out there. And back then, men weren’t these pansy-ass limp-wristed douches we have today who just whip out their phone’s camera app when someone’s in trouble or getting jumped. They’d fill that whole BLOCK full of uppercuts and end that shit.
What bothers me is that some games disallow something that’s in older ones.
In MvC2 on PS3, I could turn the music off and use the PS3’s built-in music player to have my own music on in the background.
I tried that with BlazBlue and was given a middle finger.
