There are a fair amount of people (online) that play Cody, the forum just isn’t active because you have useless shits like me who don’t know the game well enough to develop things worth looking at.
Why people wouldn’t like more Cody players?
I would love to see more Vega players in the tourney scene? I just don’t get it why people want less people to play their characters…o_O
Most of those people don’t use Cody as their primary character. They might mess around with him in endless, but they usually just stick the very basics with him/don’t really know what they are doing.
Sure we would like to see more cody players, but the caliber of player that is attracted to the “Flavor of the Month” type character aren’t exactly the best. As stated above, they are the MGB and duck -> hp spamming kind of players. Not to say we won’t get a few new players, but for the most part there going to suck.
And that’s a bad thing? You were just like them once a pun a time, almost everybody sucked when they first got their hands on a new character. You should know that it will take time. Hating on people on wanting to get on new things cuz they heard on such and such is not the way to go, just let em do it and see how far it goes.
Still if Vega ever became top tier i would like it a lot to see more Vega players at tournies beaten up on other people winning majors and stuff it would be a really cool thing to see.

The majority of the people I described are the kind that don’t want to improve, and those aren’t the ones i want associated with. I am a Ken player, and I still get the “flowchart” stereotype applied even though I have never played flowchartish in my life. I’ve been kicked from endless sessions merely because i play ken and people think hes a “noob” character due to the reputation he got from online players back in vanilla. That’s not something I want in the least bit.
Now if we get a some new players that are actively trying to learn the character, then that is all well and fine. I welcome them in fact. I do not, however, welcome the masses of band-wagoners and scrubs that will be flooding this forum when v2012 drops.

Who said Cody has bad rep of anything? The thing is… you don’t have to associate with the people on who don’t want to improve it’s your choice to or not to nobody is forcing you.
My point is instead of getting angry/sad etc what ever negative emotion you have about players wanting to play with Cody cuz they heard of “such and such in AE12” is very odd and weird to me. If you see it’s happening that Cody is getting more players/recognition by all means let it happen with open arms, it’s useless to fight against it.
I think it’s bad to have that mentality when you bring it to other discussions.

Why delete it lol let it be this is a very good discussion about people feelings about players going to other characters cuz of hype/things about them. It should be good to let people know why having negative issues about people choosing a character of their choice based on buffs or wutever is pointless.
A lot people hated other people using Yun or Fei and im like why hate??? Me personally was like shit go get that money while still having fun winning at tourneys and stuff.
