getting really close now so I thought I’d bring up the cord notch debate again.
since these cases will all have the neutrik adapter hole, I vote for removing the cord notch for a cleaner back panel on the case.
I have one of the first batch cases, it did not have the neutrik hole (got it from gamingnow). I was able to mount a neutrik from the inside with a little mcguyvering and a tocuh of JB-Weld. one pro to the cord notch is, it give you an easy way to pop the bottom plexi out. my bottom plexi fits pretty snugly and every time I have to open the case I seem to use that cord notch. on the other hand it looks a little janky, at least to me.
I’d like to know if it would be possible to sandblast the parts (with fine grid stuff) to remove the “milling marks” and give it a silk-matte look, before anodizing?
I’m willing to pay extra for this, and I’d order 2 more cases…
When I visted Nam he said he would not do those grooves. It adds to the cost because it wears out the drilling tools more per case, adds to production time and serves little function except to add grip.
Well you can put me on! Imma be making them fat duckets now! Paypal inbound.
Edit: And sent.
Now if this vote is about removing the Neutrik hole all together, I vote against. That machined bit adds such a layer of professionalism to the stick, I wouldn’t think of getting rid of it. However, if there is some “knotch” hole that I am missing, please, point me to a picture.
I vote for removing the notch as well for this run.
Also, if another blue turns up I will pay and make my two silvers into blue to get that batch done.
If your willing to pay an extra $150 per case for this then I’ll get it processed… Alternatively you can just buy a silver, get the cases sandblasted yourself from a local vendor & get it anodized yourself as well.
I’m trying to keep it simple, the cases mfg are done in mass production enviroment, if you want me to deviate from what is proposed, i’m willing to do so, but not at an inexpensive rate as it takes time away from other projects and tasks to accomodate a custom request.
Humm, $150 extra per case would be too much, indeed…
Thing is, I can sandblast stuff (at work), but there is no local vendor who anodizes such small quantities for a reasonable price!
