Wow that mp tk dash through is so nice.btw are there any unblockables after sweep that land you in front rather than beihnd ?
That would be awesome, I think you should test the CR.HK, LPTKF setup since you originally found it.
Unblockables against us should go in the new match-up thread.
You can test any setup that has Candeisis next to it since those are the ones I need to test, the rest are my setups or setups I already tested. As H_Dee said the mp.tk focus through is a glitch so it should go in the combos and glitches thread.
Stuff it how about all new threads for 2012?
tried out a ton of unblockables and not a single one worked (using regular AE, since I was too lazy to hook up my 360/PS3 and i have AE for PC, which has yet to receive the 2012 update).
I basically gave up when the j. roundhouse would whiff against oni on corner U1 > dash > j. roundhouse, because it can’t get easier than that. It didn’t connect once, and it whiffed like 30 times in a row. Yes, I altered my timing all over the place. I tried a handful against different characters in each column, and yet I receive no luck. The first setup (f. throw, ex seismo whiff, j. fierce) worked on Rufus only on the front, and the back side can be blocked. Either I’m doing something wrong or some / a lot of these simply don’t work.
I didn’t try any of the reverse-blockables.
Update: Changed all of Candeisis setups with my own results and will cross check them H_Dee’s results and anyone else who tested any of them.
Some setups whiff if blocked neutral which means they will whiff while recording since the dummy isn’t blocking. Is this what was happening to you?
All the setups work, I wouldn’t post false information on purpose.

Just tested the Ibuki unblockable seems a bit weird the first two times it was unblockable then suddenly was blockable both directions then unblockable again then would randomally switch. This was the same recording just playing over and over btw.
Hmm that’s weird cause I tested it a couple times and it was always an Unblockable but I’ll double check, thanks for the heads up.
Edit: Tested it and that never happened to me. Maybe the way you recorded caused the timing/spacing to get messed up sometimes?
It happens sometimes in Training Mode. I don’t know if it’s something inherent in the game engine, or if it’s a training mode glitch. I remember recording a safe x-up vs Chun Li in Vanilla SFIV and then playing it back. The x-up always hit. But then I wiggled the controller as she was rising and then it just kept whiffing after that, even after leaving the controller neutral. After I “re-wiggled” the stick, Chun would get hit again. I haven’t tested if this still happens in Super, but I wouldn’t be surprised.
Can anyone explain to me why unblockables like these work? My initial theory was that the blocking animation actually shifts certain characters’ hitboxes slightly forward so when they try to block they actually cross themselves up, and obviously by holding forward they aren’t blocking at all, but i’m starting to think that may not be it.
I’m curious as to how you guys record things in training mode since I never had this glitch happen to me and I spend a lot of time in training mode. I always f+dash 2/3 times before doing the actual setup so that the spacing remains consistent but for setups from throws or say FFF sweep the spacing should always be the same regardless.
That was also my theory but I honestly have no idea as to why they work, maybe your hitting them right in the center of their hitbox? Idk but they work at that’s what matters lol
Update: Corrected information for Setup 6 from corner F+throw, Information was mixed up with another setup. Added Abel, Akuma, Balrog, and Adon info to “Escape Options” although there are no setups for Adon. I’ll try to update like 3-4 characters escape options a day.
Are there characters you guys would like me to do first or should I just continue in alphabetical order?
Ibuki, Rufus, Vega, Yang would help me personally. Godlike thread man…
Added Rufus info to Escape Options. There are no setups for Vega I think he was in Setup 6 of F+throw but that info was incorrect so my apologies.
I found a unblockable by accident but I have only been able to recreate twice since I don’t know exactly how much I have to walk forward before jumping in but it seems like it has to be exactly one step forward and I haven’t found another way to time the jump-in. The setup is in the corner aerial EX.BK(all hits connect) walk exactly one step forward(??) J.HK, I know its an unblockable on Seth and Oni. When I original found it it was from FFFxxEX.Seismo, SJ.BK, IA EX.BK but it works from whatever as long as all the hits of the EX.BK connect. Maybe I just suck right now but I’m not gonna add it for now until I can consistently land it or find another way to time it, also the setup can easily be avoided by not quick rising or doing a delay quick rise to mess up the jump-ins timing.
Added Chun-Li through El Fuerte to Escape options. Rufus seems to have gotten deleted somehow but I’ll add him again some other time.
I haven’t been on here in a long time and actually just dropped viper for a little while because I barely play anymore but this great Chris.
Thanks man. I can’t believe you dropped Viper, your sticking with Ken then? I actually haven’t been into SF lately but I’m trying to force myself back into it lol, I would have finished this a while ago otherwise.
im actually playing cammy. shes really easy and really good. ill go back to viper when i have more time to play, my execution is bad right now.
E.Ryu, Fei Long, Gen added
I forgot who I saw do it but unblockable in the corner after F+throw is Dash, whiff ST.MK, J.MK. It was done on Cody when I saw it…I cant test it more now as my disc is messed up but I tested it a little prior to that & the MK has to be whiffed right after the dash, I got a reverse-blockable on sakura I think but I wasnt writing down my results at the time cause I’m an idiot.
It was kyabetsu who I saw do it on a replay on XBL his GT is Teppeki maybe the replay is still up.
Im trying to do the U1 dash j.hk one, but in training mode I can always block it no matter which way I hold. What am I doing wrong?
Diveman, try other timings. GL.
