CLOSED -- Infamous's arcade parts group buy PART 5 International Shipping Available!

Great to hear everything is going well. Just had a question as I don’t know how you do things. Are you shipping out orders as they are filled? Or waiting until all three shipments have arrived and all orders (as much as those three shipments you just mentioned) complete?

Not in any rush, was just curious.

whatever can be filled in full will be shipped out. if an order is incomplete we will not ship it until all parts are in. we can however shipout partial orders but the buyer will be responsible for any additional shipping charges.

Very cool, thanks!

No problem, was mainly just devastated about the wiring harness, but I went out and bought a soldering iron, gonna try this out. Just send the parts whenever you get the time, thanks again infamous! Can’t wait until your website opens, planning on purchasing another stick!

Hey guys,

as i said earlier i would post some of the draft art work submitted to me so far from users like yourself.
we have received over 40 different images for logos and artwork. take a look at some of the work and let me know what you think.
NOTE THESE LOGOS AND DESIGNS ARE NOT FINAL AND ARE PROPERTY OF CONNECTED GAMING INC.

draft 2

draft 7

draft 8

if you would like to participate in the birth of a new site we always welcome anyone who is willing to lend a hand creatively and artistically or if you wish to lend us a hand on the site itself. you can email me your art work or logo ideas and i will gladly reimburse you in someway if the work is approved. if you are offering services for the site itself please write a short submission on yourself and why you are/or would be a great asset to CG and provide some references if any.

There is some key things we want to keep in mind when designing the work. the work must be…

-appealing to all gamers. oldschool. retro. new and young.
-must not contain any blood, gore and anti religion symbols or remarks.
-must use bright colors. vintage preferred. dark colors may be accepted if the art is unique.
-must not infringe on anyone’s already produced work without their written IPO permission.
-must be fun looking and implement something of video game’s history.
-this will be a site made by gamers and for gamers and the approach will always be that. please try to portray this approach and image in your work as well.

thanks guys. as always i’ll be working hard on your orders while all this is going on. i will be setting up a blog soon on www.connectedgaming.ca for art and design as well as staff recruitment and other developments in our scene. we are making this website because of you guys(the customers) so any input is always welcome. any art work submitted IF approved will be subject to a one way IPO transfer and/or release waiver along with goodies, reimbursement and any reasonable request. we will be accepting art and logos all the way up to launch day.

infamous.

I’m going to refer to these by number, the top one being 1, and the bottom one being 8.

2 and 4, having the Space Invader sprites, felt too retro to me.

3, with Chief, feels too modern and perhaps alienating. My bias here is I don’t like Halo… at all.

5 really popped out to me, because it has the primary colors (which happen to be my favorite, especially when shown together). It also has a video game related image, the joystick, which imo, relates to retro gaming AND modern gaming (Atari = Street Fighter).

1, 6, 7 and 8 (with the possible exception of 6) are boring to me, and don’t have an image that is easily associated with gaming.

5 OR BUST! Primary colors, widely associated logo, pentagram… that shit makes my penis hard.

EDIT: Though, on number 5, I would like to see the ball top blue instead of red. Seems like it would add good contrast, which I think is important for catching the eye.

EDIT 2: 5 also seems to be the most concise and size efficient logo. 1 and 6, having backgrounds, would either clash with whatever background you have for the site, or would obligate you to design your site with that background. 7 and 8 are not only big, but boring. Only problem I have with 5 is the simplicity of the font. Then again, maybe having too flashy a font would be bad. I like Planet Kosmos personally. Maybe some shadow drop or emboss kinda stuff would set it off.

Your making a forum? I thought it was like a website to sell Joystick Parts …

anyways, i like the first one best.

store, community, blog, reviews and events.
we are doing it all. selling joystick parts has been done. forums have been done. we are targeting what gaming was, should of been and has evolved to. that’s what makes us gamers have fun.

another vote for Draft 5. like the font (not dissimilar to font used in star wars) and the overall look is the most eye catching. none of the others really stood out to me as particularly special. If I had to pick a second I would probably go with 6.
I think 3 has a lot of potential but master chief ruins it imo

6, 5, 4 in that order

master chief on a logo… i don’t think that’d be a good idea lol

5 is good

Draft 5 has good design choices, but the Typography is VERY distracting. Aesthetically speaking, the letters are too bold and to close together which will cause problems when you are making the image smaller, having to print it out, looking at it on a small PC monitor, among a few things. The “MIN” in the would Gaming is especially bad. It’s something that always happens when using bold Sans-Serif typefaces. That typographical flaw alone makes it a bad choice.

Draft 7 is the strongest design. It’s eye catching, the text is easy to read, the logo stands out very well, and the colors work well together and the textures are very well implemented. It feels strong and rugged, but inviting to the intending audience. The only thing is the background color, you would have to design the website around that which can be troublesome for your web designer. I would suggest getting the version which doesn’t have the background from your logo designer.

Draft 1 is the weakest. The typeface is “out of the can” with no apparent typographical thought, the background is WAY too distracting and the logo looks off center due to the asymmetrical steel plating of the background.

Draft 6 is also really well done, but once again the background forces the web designer to have to design around it. However, the overall effect of the logo might be sacrificed if the background wasn’t their.

My vote is for 5 also, it’s the only one that really stands out to me in the lineup.

Draft 6 (without the blue background), Draft 7 then Draft 5 are my choices in order. I think a simple design is nicer and also easier to remember and recognize. Drafts 1, 3 and 4 are way too “busy” and complicated. Drafts 2 and 8 look too similar to other logos already in use.

the retro stick logo is my fav

4 and 5 are hot

love the CG logo, really creative work. props for the designer of that, unique and clean.

I vote draft 6 and draft 4

so this is what you have been up to lately

draft 4, 5, and 6 in that order. I’ll touch base with you before the weekend.

thanks guys,

yeah 5 and 4 are ones me and the staff are liking personally. there are some elements in other images we like as well. i will be posting more soon later.
and yeah tuyen i been busy planning moving forward. holla.
