I haven’t messed with it even at mid-level yet – we just popped it in and tried to learn some mechanics. It reminds me of Rival Schools a little – I don’t think it’s something I’d ever wanna play seriously. It’s pretty silly, haha. I hope it takes off though and is good for tourney play.
P.S. I’ve having some people over Sat for Arnold movies, drinks and karaoke for my gf’s birthday – if anyone wants to come by lemme know. Likely: The Running Man, Red Heat. Possibles: Pumping Iron, Predator, Jingle All the Way.
Somebody pointed me to this thread when talking about Cleveland area gaming. Can you guys give me a little info on the fighting game or just gaming in general scene around here as far as tournaments or get togethers go?
Fugee and I put together a tourney that’s become a major called Season’s Beatings, which is done once or twice a year in Columbus. Other than that OH tournies are pretty rare.
I host games on Thursday nights in Macedonia cos I aquired a pretty good amount of equipment from running SB. Cle does not have a huge scene anymore but whichever game you want action in, someone plays (all Capcom, MK, SC, Tekken, even a little VF). What are you into?
In case anyone here is interested in BlazBlue, I JUST found out that the Oakland Mall arcade in the Detroit area has been considering getting the game but is concerned whether there’s enough interest to justify the purchase. Well casually I enjoy about all fighting games so if not being that great wouldn’t stink up a group I’d play about any. Though Street Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, and Soul Caliber are the ones I like the most.

Class might make the drive down a little rough, but I could definitely be the guy on the other side of the net connection if you need some online competition when you guys get together.
It’s kind of hard to wrangle a bunch of live people + one guy online – also I don’t really play SF:HD online much but some of the other guys do, if that’s what you’re after.
Let me know if you can make it out sometime. There should be a free Saturday sometime soon I could have people over too – maybe when SFIV comes out to see how bad it sucks.
P.S. John, you’re def making progress in Marvel man. Instead of trying to launch and go into the ROM, try getting used to doing the Five Fierce combo after a launch everytime. Hurts so good.
