As for future fight nights, Wednesday is the best night for me. You mentioned Monday, but I work a regular M-F job, so naturally I hate Mondays and just wanna go home and crash after work lol. But I’m sure I’ll be able to make it out here and there whichever day you choose.
Yeah, if you want to play Fri night I think we can wrangle that. Just lemme know. I’m just hanging out Friday and Sat, no plans.
Wed is no good cos that’s jam night for me out in Akron I think I’m gonna have to go with Mondays since I was able to get my guitar lesson changed. I liked doing it Thurs better and all but I don’t really have another night that works for everyone it seems like. We’ll see how it goes for the next couple weeks I guess trying it Mondays
P.S. if you guys didn’t see the thread, the venue got closed down the 5/23 C-bus tourney was taking place at. I dunno if he’s gonna cancel it or try to find a new place real quick. He sounded like he still wanted to do it for that day, so we’ll see what happens. I’m kind of suspicious at playing at a Hooter’s or whatever so I hope we get pics

Not interested in BB. I had GGX and XX and got sick of them both pretty quickly. KOF looks like it’s where it’s at, though. Still hopig for a 3rd Strike rerelease
Yeah, I guess they are just gonna upscale Marvel there’s no reason not to do it with 3s. That would be nice. It IS Capcom so there is hope. I think the 3s scene is gonna die though over the next couple years, CvS2 style, and I’m not sure a re-release would get the DLs MvC2 will since most gamers don’t know jack about SFIII. I bet Alpha 3 would get more honestly.
Tomorrow would just be a one-time thing if Harmon isn’t busy since we don’t get to hang out much. Monday is a go for fight nights over at my place starting this coming Mon.
btw we play on Sony, but I have a 360 so it’s not like we can’t roll on that. I don’t own SFIV on it though. I just don’t have a 360 stick so I can only play SF:HD on it (pad). I’d have to hook up the 360 in the basment though which woulda kinda suck since I don’t have extra cables for it in the basement like I do w/ all the Sony stuff. If we had enough people over who ONLY wanted to play SFIV and ONLY on 360 I’d do it, but we haven’t had that problem yet.
Yeah, KOF is looking cool. I hope someone around picks it up when it’s out and is willing to show everyone some stuff in it (I won’t get it unless I need to buy it for a tourney or something, or after it’s out for a few months cos I found I really like it).

Everyone plays SFIV; its unavoidable. I think it’s just me and Harmon that hate it (don’t wanna completely speak for him though). I play it too, I just don’t do it outside of fight night and John and I mostly play Marvel instead. Anthony, John, Manny, we all will play it and the new people we get all do too.
You should learn SF:HD. It’s easy to pick up. Harmon’s got deep knowledge of the game too. It’s fast and feels better than IV. I think it’s more reflex-driven, so even though the engine I think is wonky it’s just fun. Plus Harmon is really good. Man, I want SF:HD 2, and I want parries, haha.
Manny and I still play 3s every week too, so we can get you back into that.
Yeah, not the hugest fan of IV, but I play it because it’s new.

The thing about HDR is that I’ve never seen a high-level competition match that seemed like it was fun to play in, y’know?

Playing Sagat is fun even. It’s like a reflex-based mini-game. TIGER, TIGER, TIGER-UPPERCUT. Old school is fun because it’s more straight-up mind games than button pushing, kinda like I consider UMK3.
Harmon’s right in saying the coolness of the game lies in learning more than one character and doing that all day though, haha.
Sure Harmon, Fri night is good then. Also maybe I can play those games on pad at least, we’ll see. Hopefully I won’t ever have to buy a 360 stick when I’ve owned 5 PSX ones, plus Agetc + Virtua Stick – too much shit. I could always just get a DOA one – my friend who doesn’t play fighters never even uses his
HD:R is a good time. I think it’s a lot more precision-based, unlike 4 where I can throw out supercombos without too much stress. I do think 4 plays faster, though, with the dashing. Getting used to HD:R when I’ve been dashing in other games was a bit of a culture shock; I forgot how cooky SSF2T moved. Sagat and Fei Long are a BLAST to use, especially compared to how FL worked in the original Super Turbo
I might be down for tomorrow night if you can get me directions to your place and a time. I play on a PS3, so it’s no sweat for me.
Chris I can always bring over an extra 360 stick for those games if need be. I have an EX2 that doesn’t get much play after the TE came out.
