Last night one of my buttons started acting funny so I figuered I was going to have to change it so I cracked open my case to examine the button and I discovered that it is not going out at all except that there is some soot ( for lack of a better word )
causing my button to remain in activated mode like it is being held down or constantly pushed.

It is all around the soldering points so I’m guessing it is acting as a bridge between the to prongs/soldering points.

My question is how can I clean this shit of the PCB safely ? I was thinking Alchohol or Acetone or some shit cause its really sticky and cakes on there when it is not heated.

The substance in question is this putty shit that came with my soldering Iron for easier melting of the solder.

Any help will be appreciated.

go ahead and use alchohol. it’s 100% safe.

Yeah, alcohol works just fine, it cleans and evaporates very quickly so you don’t have to worry about drying it with another dust free cloth. Just be careful not to drench it too much, so that you dont have to manually dry it.
