Well the racism isn’t in your face. Its very low key. For example you go into Nordstrom then you will get followed, but made to look like they are just folding clothes. Shitty service. I have seen someone yell at some to go back to Africa, and called them all types of racist slurs. I’ve been egged waiting for the bus when I was in college and called nigger. I guess the way its shaped my perception is that I am simply not surprised when I hear about some form of racism happening, especially in Cincinnati. After I graduated from UC I was there one year and moved to Chicago.
Oh. This has ALL the spotlight, for the city, at least.
I will say Cincy has it’s racist shit, buuuut I will say that the black population of Cincy doesn’t do its self any favors changing perceptions. Your skin color doesn’t dictate how you act…so you would want to think.
So now that the cop has bonded out and filed a grievance for his job back, what did black people do? Create a disturbance. And white people get their “Well…saw THAT one coming!”
Might be an unpopular opinion but this, Michael Brown, Freddie Gray, & Walter Scott have nothing to do with racism. Sure the cops may be racists but all of these men would be alive and well if they had not resisted arrest. Maybe it’s because I wasn’t raised in a ghetto or by a single mother but when I interact with the police I’ve never assulted them or tried to run. Magically I’m still alive. The black community really needs to stop crying racism every time some thug gets himself killed and start teaching little kids right and wrong before they grow up to be failures. The KKK aren’t the ones killing black people in black neighborhoods.
I’ve seen white folks talk to cops and abuse them verbally nothing happen. Seen white folks resist arrest nothing happen.
I’ve been kind and courteous to cops and they still treat me like shit when I get stopped. Furthest thing from ‘ghetto’ as well. And i find it funny black on black crime has been brought up recently when no one cared to talk about it before and the fact it doesn’t really have anything to do with this.

The reason black on black crime has been mentioned indirectly relates to this case and others similar. There was just a little girl killed from a drive by no mention by blacklivesmatter. Same thing every time. Apparently black lives only matter when they are taken by white cops. Black lives aren’t going to matter to anyone else until they matter to blacks. That’s why black on black has been mentioned.

As a young black man myself,I’m dreading the day I get stopped by the police. Even with knowing my rights,being kind,respectful etc. shit can still go south. Shouldn’t need a checklist just to make sure I can come home to my wife at the end of the day.
It’s a reality for black men unfortunately. I remember getting pulled over in Indiana and the cop baiting me to get hostile. I just had to be as kind and respectful as possible. I most definitely think there is a huge problem going on.
Don’t forget black women as well they get forgotten alot when it comes to shit like this. This past month we had 5 black women found dead in their cells.
Truth, really blacks in general are pretty much getting bodied by the cops now and days.
