Bro what fucking drugs are you smoking, do you know what butt hurt even means? Excluding the original post I’ve posted twice in this thread, both times because you like spouting bullshit as fact.
Following you around? Evidently you think too highly of yourself. Please quote all the threads where I am following your dumbass around. If you are referring to the ONE THREAD posted yesterday about that poor lady that was attacked and raped by that sick bastard, if you actually read what I wrote you would see I didn’t address you directly I was disappointed that AngelPalm proved your point right.
So believe me when I say, I really don’t give a shit about you or your opinion. You can’t honestly expect people on here to sit passively and allow you to talk out of your arse and not call you out on it. Calling people butthurt because you got called out is a poor man’s defense, nobody is buying that.
You clearly aren’t able to discern reality from the fiction within your head.
Please get back to me on those threads though, I will paypal you $10 for every thread you find proving how butthurt I am over your posts.
Wait a minute, people do realize that Serpent has been arguing against the Tobacco industry, right? Since you guys didn’t take the time actually read them, let me recap his posts.
If we are banning things because they are harmful, why aren’t we banning cigarettes? If the argument is that they aren’t as harmful as others, marijuana is less harmful than cigarettes and its banned. If I can’t self-medicate, then why am I able to buy a substance that has no medical use and entirely harmful effects? Tobacco is given an exception that does not seem to follow any logical consistency when compared to substance which are just as harmful.
The fries at McDonald’s are filled with all sorts of crap. Many of these chemicals aren’t really good for you. Why aren’t they banned?
Moderation is immaterial to the argument. Smoking in moderation is still harmful enough to kill you. Pretending that water is similar to cigarrettes is a ridiculous comparison since: 1) your body needs water to function (with positive health benefits associated with drinking more water rather than substituting actual liquids), 2) the amount of water needed to cause you harm an incredibly large one, more so than any of the substance which are illegal and definitely larger than tobacco.
tobacco companies have used their profits to heavily influence the discourse of controlled substances. This has lead to them receiving subsidies they don’t deserve on top of keeping things illegal which we would be better off if they weren’t.
I probably ruined some of his fun but damn, stop trolling yourselves. The dude is basically telling you its horseshit that Tobacco companies get tax breaks to sell drugs legally and ya’ll dudes are mad at him for it. I don’t even know what the fuck I’m reading anymore.
Again, i think you’re not grasping my point. It’s not like a promoter of the tobacco industry comes to you, shoves a cigarette in your mouth and force you to smoke it. The decision to start smoking (thus taking the risk of becoming addicted to it) is yours and yours alone. There are ADs, there are Anti-Smoking Campaigns, etc… Still, if you decide to start, YOU are the one to blame.
I don’t think anybody reads yours either. People get all uppity about certain politically correct things. Trayvon made everyone flip out and pay even less attention to detail. People still don’t understand that it wasn’t a stand your ground case so its w/e.
Marijuana has been shown to be significantly less harmful. If the two could go head to head, who would really be more popular? If it was a free competition, outside of a core of diehards it is hard to say that tobacco would still be king. McDonald’s food is terribad. That was a tongue in cheek way of making a point. Unfortunately McDonald’s is legally allowed to do more harm than most drugs because they sell crappy processed food unimpeded. This food has been continually shown to have little nutritional value. This means that spending money on McDonald’s (outside of the high you get from enjoying it) is not much different than smoking a cigarette.
It is not likely that legalizing marijuana recreationally would cause any dip in cigarette or cigar sales at all. You cannot take a lunch break, step outside, and light up a joint, but you can light up a cigarette, or even a cigar no problem. Also, people simply would not want to get high. If people are anything like me, and im fairly normal, weed is for getting high, and tobacco is for everything else but getting high. Lol. I will always still want to enjoy my black n milds, and fat cigars every now and then with some booze. Having weed available to me wont change that, because i dont always wanna get high when i smoke something. Sometimes i just wanna smoke to enjoy a light buzz, usually while drinking, and just relax, but still be able to function after i have finished a couple cigarillos, not be stoned out of my mind. Sometimes even if im just taking a walk, i’ll light up a black n mild to smoke, but i doubt i would light up a joint, even if it was legal for me to do so. Thats just me, but usually getting stoned is for a reason for me, not just because im alive, and i think there are a lot more people like that, then there are people who would just light up weed to light it up, replacing their cigarettes, cigars, and cigarillos.
I’m being redundant, but i guess im just saying, people smoke weed for different reasons then why people spark up a cig, cigar, cigarillo. If i know weed wouldnt replace my cigars and cigarillos, i have a strong feelings its not likely to do that for your average person, especially not your hardcore smokers.
Body builder CT Fletcher is also famous for having a McDonalds diet which he stopped after having a heart attack and requiring a bypass, although I suspect there was some steroids usage that contributed to that as well.
eh…you’re forgetting that there would be new generations which would make a choice between tobacco and marijuana. The big issue Tobacco would face is competition and, given all the bad blood the companies have created, it wouldn’t be too hard to see Cannabis taking a big chunk of Tobacco products.
Now you may use Tobacco for everything else. Similarly there are people who use Cannabis for everything else. I know a lot of functional pot heads who smoke weed to get work done. How is this different than smoking a cigarette? Functionally its no different. Tobacco is giving you a buzz whether you notice it or not.
You’re making way too much of the McDonald’s post. He basically cracked a joke on bad things and you are latching on to it like its the biggest point backed by the most evidence. Going out of your way to attack the Mickey D’s evidence just makes his post attacking you carry more weight.
Newer generations wont matter. Tobacco and weed just are too different, and still serve different purposes. There will never be a point in time in this country that it is the norm to step outside of your job for lunch, and light up a joint around your peers or boss, and go back to work. I mean, the lawsuits alone. Yikes. So when people are looking to smoke because of some ocd, or they just like to blow rings, or they want a light tobacco buzz if they can still even get it, or just simply to smoke out of habit, cigars, cigarillos, and cigarettes will always be there, and weed wont. Weed even in colorado cannot just be smoked wherever you feel like it, even if your job allowed you to get high on the premises and go back into work, but you know what can be smoked pretty much any damn wear, tobacco products.
Yeah, but the functional pot head is more of an urban myth then anything else. People have friends that they note smoke weed all the time and get shit done, albeit probably not in very demanding jobs (artist, desk junkie, manager, secretary, warehouse worker, etc.), but overall im not going to pretend that, that is the norm. Most people who light up a joint of some decent midgrade, and finish it, aren’t going to go back and do their job as effeciently as they would do it sober, or even just after smoking a couple cigarettes on break with a cup of coffee. Well duh, of course they wont do it as effeciently, jimmy. No, i mean they will go back, and it will be clear they are high/something is wrong with them, and they will likely just suck at their job for the rest of the day, or get caught and get fired.
A tobacco buzz is nothing like getting high though. The only time a tobacco buzz can interfere is if you’re not a heavy smoker, and you can get a pretty large disorienting buzz off of it (I have been getting them a lot smoking my cigars lately, and it happens often when i smoke shisha.). That buzz can fuck with you a bit, but it usually goes away after like 15-20 minutes from when you stopped smoking, unlike finishing a whole joint of some solid midgrade, which is going to leave you high for hours if you are not some seasoned vet, while also having noticeably odd behaviors that do not arise from a tobacco high. A “big” tobacco high just feels like youre dizzy, but kinda drunk, which in turn can make you feel kinda sick until it wears off for the noobz, but you dont start laughing weird on a tobacco buzz, you dont get the munchies, your speech doesnt change, your cordination goes off for both, with weed having a longer lasting effect on your cordination and reflexes, your eyes dont get glossy and start wandering, you dont get randomly paranoid and have your senses heightened, etc… So yeah, even a big tobacco buzz is not even comparable to being high off of your average quarter sack a person gets in america.
I’ve smoked a lot of weed in my time, of all grades, and i was never one to be very functional high, which was always shocking to me, because i am a fairly highly functional drunk person, to the point that most of my friends and girlfriends are like, “Youre so together when you drink, and i know youre drunk because i see how much youre drinking, but i cannot tell if youre drunk or not”. I cannot type for shit when high. Its so slow, its like im in 5th grade again. My demeanor changes enough that its noticeable if im high, even if im trying not to show it. You know the classic high as shit person trying to not act high, but it just makes him look high trying not to act high. lol. I cannot drive as well high, and off a mild high at that. I float into lanes randomly as if i cannot control my shit for some reason, something i have never experienced even after a heavy night of drinking, and stupidly getting behind the wheel. I just have my shit together more under alcohol then weed, and that says something to me, but no one wants to say shit about weed ever, because its not cool to criticize marijuana, even though im sure a lot of people who drink fairly often, dont smoke weed that often because they know how it makes them get.
I hear more people say they like weed, but dont really smoke it often because of how it makes them get (paranoid, goofy, zombiefied, etc), more then i hear people spouting out how highly functional they are even when stoned. But anyways, yeah, back on topic, tobacco buzzes vs weed highs, are just not comparable, and people are less likely to function normally off of being high off of weed, then getting a slight buzz of of a tobacco product, or a heavy buzz off of a tobacco product that will wear off quickly.
I dont know, i dont believe in the urban myth of the functional pot head, and i dont believe that weed could ever triumph over tobacco based products for the number 1 spot of day to day norm of what people smoke, mainly because of the many various reasons that people smoke, most of which arent to get high (the tobacco buzz is far from a weed high to even be considered in the discussion imo).
There really needs to be some sort of common sense test in shit like this. We are the Land of Disclaimers and yet still people find ways around it to try and make a buck. It’s a sad day in our society when you pick up a can of cashews, and on the container, there’s a disclaimer that states “Warning: Contains Cashews”. It’s at that point where I believe we’ve gone too far. If someone’s too fucking dumb to realize that their can of cashews contain cashews and die from an allergic reaction… I say GOOD. Get them the fuck out of our gene pool.
this thread alone, proves that people who don’t know addiction, can’t appreciate it. People think “oh I can just smoke this and be fine” and little do you know, not really.
While I agree that you are responsible, you can’t state that companies themselves aren’t, when they spent years marketing their product, covering up surgeon general warnings, adding new chemicals to continue addiction, and lobbying the governments to keep their product out there.
If I start getting fat from eating poorly, I can’t complain to the dudes making snicker’s bars. But they aren’t putting additional chemicals in their product to make me need more.
Umm bro, i think you may be confused as to whom is the majority grower/distribute of both Ecigg and a massive chunk of newly legalized weed.
There’s a huge infrastructure already in place once it’s legal to ship across state line and the “Big Tobacco” will be growing/selling the majority of said products.
In truth these are one and the same hand in hand as far as whom gets your dollars.
