I hate this verdict because of what it does to discussions of tort laws. Look at how full retard people went with the mcdonalds coffee verdict. This thing is worth another good 15 worth of bullshit from lobbyists and politicians as ammunition to fuck over citizens. That’s why that verdict is bad.
I don’t know why there are people that actually campaign for and defend them, but I’m not interested in winning internet arguments. Feed your pig face whatever you want.
I started smoking knowing it was bad for me. I’m unsympathetic towards anyone that is a slave to the same vice. I don’t complain when the taxes are raised on cigarettes, because it’s one of the few tax hikes I agree with.
If you ever buy a pack of cigarettes in New York, be prepared to pay $11-15 a pack. Most people just roll their own. In Belgium I bought a pack to have with my wine and Greek food. Cost? Maybe 2 euros. I have NEVER seen a pack of cigarettes that cheap in my life.
I pay like $5.25 in NH. If I’m ever going to be out-of-state for a time, I stock up. I usually smoke half a pack a day. I was a pack-a-day smoker for years. Even neighboring states have much higher costs.
New Hampshire: Cheap cigarettes and beer, no seatbelt/helmet laws for adults, and property tax up and out the ass.
I wasn’t complaining about the property taxes, either. Owning land in the finest state in the nation is a privilege and one should expect to pay accordingly.
processed foods are processed foods.
Most people eat them, certainly not the most healthy option, but wholeheartedly buying into the scaremongering campaign while calling anybody who disagrees stupid is pretty silly.
Perchance, did you get those links from facebook? They look awful facebooky.
If you throw a fit about those ingredients, you better eat nothing but freshly prepared meals from here on out (what a luxury). Also you better not dig into any major farming practices (traditional or organic), lest ye find that pesticides are just the way vegetables are grown (GMOs aside, which are amazing by the way). The only true way to be safe about what you eat is to grow/kill it yourself, know personally who did, or specifically research the practices of tthe outfit that provided your food. Other than that all bets are off (personal responsibility wins again). Even so, the scaremongering goes way overboard and has become the new trendy attitude…when GMOs will probably save the world.
hahaa
Why not just kill every single one of the scum that blame rests on?
That would invalidate government and economic/corporate bullshit via those remaing knowing they are not above reproach, and it would halt SO MUCH bullshit in it’s tracks.
i.e. If this site http://www.corpwatch.org/ stopped having news to report because scummy business started dying with it’s purveyors, people would be celebrating.
Now, I’m normally all for getting along with others, but some people are not to be reasoned or conversed with, but buried.
The bolded part made me laugh, honestly. Pretty much every kind of drug (hint: pills and meds are drugs) is harmful if you put it this way.
Let’s be honest. I’m a smoker since 2011 (5-7 cigs a day, maybe some more if i go out with friends that are smokers. I don’t smoke if i’m out with non-smokers). If i’ll ever get cancer or any other illness related to my bad habit i won’t sue Pall Mall because of it. Like other said, it was my decision to light up my first cigarette and going on smoking. It will be my fault ONLY.
Following your point, they should make pretty much every drug illegal: alcohol, coffee (and i’m talking REAL coffee, not that watered down Starbucks shit), even meds.
Anyway. I’m not cheering for Tobacco Companies or anything like that. I’m just appalled that someone who dig his own grave (i’m pretty sure i’ll end up with liver failure because of the huge quantity of Epilepsy pills i take every day, that are slowly killing my liver) would sue a Company only because it made a product for public consumption, with health warnings and everything.
The key word with every kind of addictive substance is moderation. And trust me, i know how being addicted is. I experience it first hand every day. Should i stop? Sure, i could cut tobacco and coffee. But i would still be physically addicted to my epilepsy pills. That would be the BEST way to get my health back, but i can’t. The truth is… I’m hiding my fear of pills killing my liver behind huge quantities of coffee and smokes, because i can’t stand the fact that taking pills that should help my life are instead slowly killing me. I prefer to be the one at fault for a potential liver failure or lung cancer instead. Stupid? ABSOLUTELY. But it’s my problem to deal with.
