After the RR, top 4 go to single elim finals. 3+4 play, loser gets fourth, winner + 2 play, loser gets third, winner + 1 play for first/second. It works, but was only tested with 7 or less people. Also 3 way ties would need to be broken before moving onto the finals.

With a 1+4, 2+3 setup, there is no difference between getting first and getting fourth in the RR.
