C.Viper Rom. Not sure how many reps you can get yet but would be nice if other people experiment with it

I was waiting on this for like a week lol

Please make this something awesome. Your viper execution is probably better then mine and I can see some sick possibilities already

That was pretty sick as it was. If I can make that regular off air to airs and seismo FADC that would be sick.

3 reps into air series for like 900k with one bar… using viper/spencer/steven strange

Anyone know another way aside from Dormammu or Doom assists?

@DrewGrimey <div><br></div><div>Good stuff as usual.  You’ve probably been doing the plink dashing stuff for a while, but I noticed you move real good along the ground with Viper.  Hit people off air throws or normals and they die as usual. Seismo, laser cancels etc.</div><div><br></div><div>  Only thing I can really say to criticize your Viper is that you seem to be in the air too often with Viper and that’s where she usually got clipped.  I’m learning to play a more grounded based game with the seismos, H thunder knuckle and focus and that basically makes her a lot more solid of a character.  It allows you to deal with mix ups better than probably anybody else in the cast and generally not being locked up in the air and air dashing makes you less susceptible to grounded mix ups since Viper doesn’t really have the air movement speed of Magneto or Dante.  </div><div><br></div><div>The crazy thing is that even if you never were to do that your team is still crazy strong since everybody is powerful in XF and unless they get rid of both Viper and Vergil you can generally TOD most of the relevant cast without using XF.  Which just getting people off the screen when you touch them is important.  I feel that’s the best way to make a team any way.  Strong support and characters that aren’t shit out of water when only 2 or 1 is left.  Plus you have an anchor that actually has ways to get out of incoming mix ups other than mashing on normals or supers which is important.   People are still scared shitless of anchor Vergil but I feel it’s just a matter of killing their point character before they kill yours and dealing with him.  It’s hard to make a team where everybody is scary by themselves when Vergil is anchor that doesn’t have shit support.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>  I wanted to ask about some of your sword loop conversion stuff with Vergil cuz it seems like after Viper died there was a lot of times where you could have went into sword loops, but didn’t.  </div><div><br></div><div>Oh and those incoming guard break things Apology was doing to you, are you fucked even if you don’t pushblock?</div>

<br><div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”>I been plink dashing for about the last 2 weeks. Believe it or not, it’s actually easier for me than wavedashing is, especially moving backwards, still got more improvement to go.  I usually go in the air to buy some time, think about my approach, analyze my opponent’s movement and assist call habits, hopefully catch a conversion of a vajra or whatever.  But yeah, I was staying air born too much vs AM, I think alot of it had to do with me being unfamiliar with the Skrull matchup. If you notice, later in the set I was holding my ground much better.</font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><br></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”> I feel like I have one of the few teams that can kill with no xf or tac off any hit or throw and in most cases gain meter from the tod combo… About me not doing sword loops when I should, I just really wasn’t playing that good that day, the last two times I played AM in tourney, I beat him 3-0 each time, so I feel like this set I did pretty bad.</font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><br></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”>Vs lvl 5 Frank, you’re pretty much screwed when he get’s lvl 5 since it is almost impossible to get away from him.  No pusblock means you gotta deal with about 3 50/50 mix-ups so your fucked no matter what you do</font></div></div>

Hey brosky,

What assist are you using? You can do this a bunch of ways you just need to apply the same properties, i.e. lateral control from a beam assist and veritical “pop” or a ground bounce. So it depends on what you’re currently using and what you’re willing to use.

Apollunai

Howdy howdy. Here is a ft10 set of my Viper/Morri/Strider against a friend of mine (spoiler: he has a pretty unfavorable team in the matchup). Anyone else using this team or have any advice or tech? I’m still trying to figure out how to optimize Viper damage off of non-standing opponent scenarios.

(Second half is Viper on point)

screw it, I’ll post my combo here too

Just made a short collection video of things I’m trying to work into my game or put out there for the community with all three characters. Seismo-FADC is really neat. :slight_smile:

Ironic! I have a question Viper community and it pertains to c.M hit confirms and M. TK hit confirms. I’m trying to improve my neutral game and spacing, so I’ve been trying to hang back and not RTSD with my general openers and pressure. I’m attempting to become active in my local tourney scene, those dudes don’t fall for my pressure and constant tri-dash/jump. So I’ve been trying to learn to play it cool and get a solid confirm off of a punish or a nice meaty c.M after a hard knockdown.

I’ve been having this problem though and I’m wonder if I should adjust my method;

whenever I land a c.M or M. TK from max range my s.M whiffs, i.e. I clip the opponent with a c.M and cancel into a M. TK and S feint that into s.M and it just whiffs!!! The same happens if I try to do a raw M. TK from max range, I get the confirm, the feint comes out but then the s.M friggin’ whiffs!!!

Has anyone else had this problem? It only happens from max range like I said.

I’m not sure if it just doesn’t connect due to range or if I’m feinting to late or what!

Should I just omit s.M and only use c.M? I really don’t get why this is out of range. Is just my error or is this known to drop?

Thanks,

Apollunai

@Apollunai

Yeah just do c.M to L thunder knuckle instead. M Thunder knuckles tends to whiff more on crouching characters also. Read the Viper abare thread I made for more help also.

@AzureJericho, I like what you did. It would have been interesting to see you show off that stuff vs. random pushblock situations also. More people really need to add focus, H thunder knuckle and seismo FADC into her game because those are the tools that make her scary in the neutral without meter. Rapid seismo into FADC transitions sounds like a great way to turn Viper into an immovable force in a lot of matchups.

I also saw you were showing off some burn kick stuff against Morri fireballs? Is there any way you’re thinking to incorporate that in a real match vs. Morri? The just frame H TK feint absorb stuff that gottnoskill showed seemed a bit impractical.

Oh geez, I knew I forgot something (re: anti-pushblock applications of Seismo-FADC). I don’t recommend doing the Burn Kicks versus Soul Fists when Morrigan is cloned up, but when I saw that Burn Kick had some projectile nullifying aspects, I wanted to see how it’d fare against the current meta’s best projectile and the result was me putting that bit of training up in the video. If you can preempt some of her zoning before she goes doubles or Doom is called, you can use that for space since the actual Burn Kick hitbox is seemingly Xbox huge.

I also agree about using the Rapid Seismo - FADC variant to approach moreso than solo Seismos if only because it’s less executionally intense and you have some time to think out the option you want between more Seismos, FADC or Laser. You have to be extremely crisp for the single Seismo forward approach. (Pad warrior here.)

Edit: The Rapid Seismo approach is also what I’d consider the best approach for teams without a fast horizontal assist for her. L Seismos in front of her to soak projectiles in motion, M/H for preempting moves coming towards her or just to keep them out and/or backing them into the corner where her mixup game can start, especially with me playing Dante on Jam Session.

Matches with Chrisis, Drew Grimey and KBeast from When’s Marvel Wednesdays for those who haven’t seen already. Interesting to see the variety in teams and play styles.

Watch on youtube and read description to get the time contents for the matches.

Don’t forget the matches where I put champ into losers then eliminated him from losers

The fact that you posted that makes me ashamed for making this video unknowing of your ability to output higher pre dhc damage with your team.

I still like the combo but I’m not playing that team, imma alter the description in a bit.
