The only thing I can comment on is that you are giving up too much ground too easy by walking backwards.
Stand your ground so the shoto has to work more to get you to the corner.

Was playing some ranked and I came across this Bison. I usually struggle against Bison, even average ones. Anyways, it went like this.

So yeah, I was pretty excited and made some bad mistakes. I think I missed every safe jump attempt. Kept jumping too soon and getting thrown. Biggest mistake was when I had him in the corner and landed a bnb, I should have ex legs’d into ultra for the win, instead I went into lp > hp combo. I was instantly disappointed in myself as soon as I did it. I noticed ex legs whiffing him on two occasions that should have hit, and I realized Bison has some wonky hit boxes in general. I whiffed a sweep against his neutral jump that normally hits an opponent while they are still airborne. Not sure what happened there either.

Have to say I was very disappointed with the results. I really really wanted his points. Even a draw game would have made me feel a little better.

And then later I accidentally hit quick match and landed in a room with this Akuma. One of those funny moments happened, so I thought I would share.

That was my 9th shoto in 11 ranked matches. The army was in full force tonight. :coffee:

Here’s a snippet from the stream from Red Fight District, Holland

Your DKO fell into a black hole and re-emerged in my part of the world. :crybaby:

I alt Rose so I really should have played this way better. One HSU too many, but I did so because I noticed he wasn’t Soul Throwing or anti airing that well. Only problem was I really should have teched all those throws. Dropped Ultra attempts… Kikosho to catch a back dash/melt Troll Satellite didn’t go so well either. Back to the drawing board…

Yeah, maybe it’s time to cast my fallout glitch fears aside and look for alternative ways to have U1 in this match-up.

Good matches, I had to laugh at the one Viper video. I saw you had about half your health left and only 4 seconds to go on the youtube video, already knew what was coming.

I see you on PSN a good deal whenever I bother to log on, so maybe you can fight my Dudley sometime.

Ha cheers mate, you know you told me he did a training room stint, you got that you could PM?

thanks for the upload! you’re a hero greg.

man i love his inputs, super clean, doesn’t mash at all.

after seeing this video, i’m just wondering, do you chun’s out there mash out the ex.legs off cr.LKs or do you guys have a specific piano?

Here’s the YT-version of my match vs. Starnab from Red Fight District:

Well played… Actually I’ll say Godlike play

pretty awesome indeed.

Very great job.
Starnab is one of the best french players.

I loved the patience in that vid, just blocking the pressure play working your way out of the corner.

Hi all! I was hoping I could get some feedback from you folks.

My local scene recently had a ranbat. This is my Chun vs. T.Hawk at 3:00-11:00. This was a pre-ranbat casual. Feedback and criticism totally welcome.

Watched about 5 mins of it, its too late for me to give a full Crit of it (as in its like nearly 4am rather than the post is too late lol) so a few things I noticed…

A LOT of random jumping and neutral jumping which I’m not sure of the reason for? You are way better off staying on the ground and using her ground game against Hawk, jumping a lot can be punished not too difficulty by Hawk. Also so much random jumping is a bad habit

No blockstring or pressure, I know its Hawk but you have to be pro-active at keeping him honest and making him feel like he can’t just dictate the pace of the fight.

A lot of HSU… You know this isn’t really very safe on block against grapplers right? When I say a lot I mean a LOT of HSU’s, I have no idea why he never punished you for it (well for the fights I watched he didn’t and he could)

Decent AA-ing and Air to Air counters, trades always suck for Chun but you have to do it lol

If you hadn’t been random jumping at much I’m pretty sure you would have been in a better position to punish his mistakes with actual damage rather than just pokes, also a few times you landed hits from the jumps and didn’t combo… Instead I think you probably did HSU

don’t jump in at Hawk or Gief with lk… unless its hella deep he recovers from blockstun fast enough to punish it with SPD, you did this a few times and its bad…

If you block a dive don’t miss your ultra  you have plenty of time to ready it, do it literally just before he lands, also without ultra blocked dives can be cr.fierce xx legs if you stand block it and dash

Did you have a gameplan for the fight? What was it you were trying to gain from the way you approached the fight and the jumping, HSU and none pressure strategy. Its important to go into a fight with a plan you can stick to for one fight then see what adjustments you need to make. Not having a clear idea of your goals for the fight makes the following matches harder to make adjustments for…

I wish I could find the energy to be more helpful but sadly I can not, I hope this helps in some way

my lord, that CH into ultra.

you have no idea how much ill be routing for you at canada cup, you are amazing. wish i could get that good

not game related related but…

Thanks Wii, I found that very helpful regardless

I think you pretty much nailed it on the head regarding a gameplan. I definitely didn’t really have a good one. I suppose I was playing more of a reactionary game, hoping to punish mistakes more than anything. I always feel like I always loose when ever I try to pressure with block strings, frame traps or what have you. I guess I just haven’t figured how to do that properly yet (in any matchup).

I’ll try to stay more on the ground. That’s a habit I really gotta get over. I think I’m just scared that he’s going to do the condor dive infront of me then insta-command throw. And I totally forgot how punishable hsu is on block… although if mk hsu is 0 on block, can’t I back dash or jump immediately to avoid getting thrown?

Anyway, thanks for the advice. I’ll be keeping these things in mind in future games!
