I’m all about the drum! haha
sliding hurst my middle finger, plus my middle finger and ring finger like to coordinate on my right hand so I can’t piano really, I end up hitting to kicks at once. Just weird I can do it on my left hand haha!
Is it possible to safe jump of a sweep because when I sweep I dash then go for the j.hpx2 option select sweep and eat a dp, but when I go for it after a forward throw I’m safe whats the problem?. Also is this a safe jump because I see some people do it : Exlegs then dash deep j.rh but how can it be a safe jump since you can tech exlegs then just dp out of it, and can you go for a safe jump off a backwards throw because I tried back throw dash deep j.mk and there’s times I get reversal
It’s probably not impossible to safe jump after a sweep, but it’s incredibly difficult to time. And no you cannot dash j.hpx2 after sweep the same way after forward throw. Also, to clear something up, the fwd throw, dash, j.hpx2 is NOT a safe jump vs all characters, ESPECIALLY against characters with DP except Sagat and Dudley. Ex legs, (without dash) jump in (deep) j.hk is a safe jump against Viper. I’m not entirely sure if it works against any other characters.
As meeks said, dash jump after throw is not a real safe jump, it just happens to make like four or five characters’ reversals whiff (and two or three other characters’ non-EX reversals). People just think it works on other characters because apparently they’re playing Ryu’s who don’t know how to auto-correct/do late dps, and just generally people who don’t do research. For example, Dudley can cross counter it, but not all Dudley’s will. Against 30 or so characters in the game, it’s not recomended.
To do a real safe jump off of a throw, you need to walk forward for half a step, and to do it off of a sweep, you need to do walk forward for like a frame or two. Both are fairly hard to time, but the sweep one is harder.
Then again, I don’t try either against characters with a reversal faster than 7 frames, which makes it only really useful against 12 or so characters. Although I’m sure there are people who can safe jump DeeJay off Chun’s sweep.
There’s also the safeish jump off of EX legs. http://shoryuken.com/f253/safe-jump-after-exlegs-combos-262085/

Something has been bothering me for a while. I usually pick Dan as my training dummy, and everytime I put in the game I rehearse some of my combos and links to warm up a bit before playing online/against my brother.
Here is the thing, my brother mains Guy. Now I don’t have any trouble with this match-up, or else I would’ve taken this post to the match-up thread. I noticed that I couldn’t do j.HP x2 -> land -> jump -> stomp x3 like I do with Dan. I am lucky if I get one stomp, getting two means I secretly have an invisible, intangible four-leaved clover in my pocket.
What I want from SRK is the following: I want to learn how to do:
j. HP x2 -> land -> dash -> jump -> stomp x3
Now back in the days when I decided to get past scrub level I learned the dash ultra in like 10 minutes. By learned I meant I can execute it 90% of the time. But that’s because I watched OHT’s video about it.
Now is there a hint on how to do this? Because I tried for too long in training mode and googled it with no good results.
I use X360 controller if that matters.
I think its possible to do the target combo into stomps on anybody, it just really depends on how high they are in the air. You can kinda see how the hitbox is when you practice that.

Might be, but I think it’s different from character to character. That’s why I asked to learn the TC to dash to stomp. I think that might make the timing universal. The problem is I can’'t seem to pull it off.

If the timing for it without the dash is not universal, the timing for it with the dash won’t be universal either. Just saying, whether or not you wait longer isn’t really going to matter if everyone falls at a different speed.

I honestly have a hard time pulling the stomp off as well with my fight stick input wise I usually end up hitting down/forward with a PS3 controller(analog sticki) I nail it everytime—weird I know.
Although it is a nice move to have I actually prefer just holding down and charging my EXSBK if you have meter
I’m not sure if it does more damage or not but the EXSBK will knock your opponent up and if you have a trap in the corner Ultra that sucker—the damage scaling sucks but it sure looks awesome, haha!
any one down for some matches? I use Vega

Just wanted to ask that I have always used c.lk,c.lp,c.mk ex legs as my bread ‘n’ butter for more damage, but I have seen nemo and other chun users opp for the c.lk in stead of the c.mk to combo into ex legs, is there a good reason for this?

I believe it is because of the easier execution.
LK and LP can be chained, but MK has to be linked, which technically makes the combo execution more difficult for a very slight difference in damage (when you account for combo scaling the difference is like 25 or something).
That would be my reasoning, but I don’t know.
I also prefer c.LK > c.LP > c.MK xx EX Legs, but that’s because I use cr.MK in different ways and because it can be cancelled, so the same startup combo can still yield different outcomes. I try to vary it up between cancelling into EX Legs, MP Kikoken, or Hazanshu.
c.lk, c.lk, c.lk can’t be backdashed or mashed out of, they will just eat a c.lk if they try something.
That is why it is preffered by some players.
Is there a way to do the lightning leg loop using the slide method?
Exvaris

Technically yes.
The easiest way I can think of is to do cr.HP~HK and then slide down from HK to LK, then back up to HK, then mash MK.
So it’d be :hp:~:hk:~:mk:~:lk:~:mk:~:hk:~:mk::mk::mk::mk::mk:

I use the slide method for HK legs MK legs (I never do the loop though, I just link into sweep or cr. mk xx EX legs). I can do it really consistently so I think it works fine unless you want to try for the loop in which case it’s probably not as good as piano. I just press fierce with my middle finger and then with my index and middle finger together I use the middle part of my fingers (like where the joints of the fingers are) to do the slide. I like this better than sliding the fierce because you don’t have to slide a 90 degree angle and also because I feel like when you do it all as one slide you are more prone to accidentally mistime it and just get a sweep. The way I do it I make sure I just press the fierce at the right time and then I go right into the slide.

I use the slide method, but I use the 3 punch-button for the :hp:, because the angle for the slide is better, so its:
:3p:~:hk:~:mk:~:lk:~:mk:~:hk:~:mk::mk::mk::mk::mk:
Its really easy to do, the only problem is, that you don’t get a plink for the loop.
On the other side, if you’re a frame to early with the loop you get the sweep, because hk has proirity over hp.
I’ve been trying to do backdash ultra its the only one I can’t really do and its annoying me. I watched a video on Youtube that said you can hold DB then focus press forwards then back and she will dash but she doesn’t dash unless I double tap back as you usually would. I don’t get it.
Now the funny part: I have pulled the back dash ultra off by holding back then going forwards, focus attack, quickly single press back then forward and 3 kicks. Why am I having to do it differently to the video, why won’t she dash after a charged focus> forward> back? Now tonight I don’t seem to be able to do it at all again???
Sorry if this is a long post but I’m baffled big time!!! I’m starting to think my ps3 has bugs or a glitch!
If anybody can help I’d really appreciate it.

No bug or glitch there.
Backdash Ultra tends to be pretty hard to do. The execution for it is very specific, and to be honest, I don’t think you even need it.
If you are dead-set on learning it, this is how I do it. Hold Downback, then Focus. As soon as you release the focus attack (I don’t suggest charging to Level 3 because it’s harder to know when to do this), quickly tap forward, then back. It should cause Chun to backdash. At that point you are charging for your Ultra, and then you do forward, back, forward + 3K.
Thanks Snake you’re always really helpful and I think you have given me the answer, release the focus attack, I was holding it. I know its not a must to know but as a frequent preacher of how much better Hosenka is as an ultra i feel I should learn all its varieties.
