Fuck this game is the worst sometimes. I hit a cammy with an anti-air normal then VTC it and go for the meaty overhead as they are coming down. I hit them (counterhit because they were mashing cr. jab) and it turns out that because they were mashing jab, they got pushed back so that I couldn’t link cr. LP afterwards and get my conversion into cr. MK xx SBK (which threw me off and put me on tilt the rest of the round). Why the fuck should they get the reward of taking less damage/no knockdown because they were mashing and got counterhit for it? This shit is so stupid.

I’'ll be honest, this costume looks fine on Chun-Li. She looks smart, sexy, and independent. However, I feel she already has like 2 “work” costumes already for her job as a policewoman/interpol. In addition, maybe another character would probably be better suited for this one instead. Still, another Chun-Li costume? I’m not complaining. She is the queen of SF after all.

Havent played SFV for 2 weeks and wanna get back to schedule by doing some matchup training. Anyone got some tips for Dhalsim matchup training? I get molested by him often. Sorry for posting here but its kinda live thread

If he ever does his V-skill (or w/e) float thing, do everything in your power to get an air throw/j mp xx hk/ex legs. Don’t throw too many fireballs, and try to rush down when he throws fireballs, NOT when he’s mashing his OP normals. I think st lp and st mp (which has the same startup as st lk now boohoo) are your best options against instant air teleport thanks to the st lk nerf. Not sure what to do vs his wakeup teleport, though… Seems like he just gets away completely for free anywhere but the corner.

-St. HK controls the air space that his v-skill occupies for the most part. If he starts trying to tag you first with j. LP, you can call out and intercept that with B+HP.
-You can EX Legs punish his normal yoga fire pretty handily. It will avoid the fireball as she moves forward if you’re on point.
-B+HP is a pretty good button on the ground for going against his pokes if you have a grasp on the Sim player’s poking pattern.
-You can throw teleports on wakeup and also dash up and punish the recovery most of the time if he uses it to avoid a button… it’s not actually that great/a free escape.
-Be ready to EX SBK divekicks. Good Sims will know how to space it properly and make MK divekick + on block and it’s kind of hard to AA these with normals on reaction (you have to be looking for them and again B+HP is pretty good for this)

Xpost from FGD. I’m glad for this hiatus. This game can be frustrating sometimes. Either I invest in alt characters some more or hope the April patch isn’t as bad as it sounds on paper.

Anyone still struggling with Chun or did you all sold your souls?

LOL @ maining chun in season 2. The only reason to do it is if you are a straight up die hard fan of the character.

She has lots of options and strategies but none are near op or good enough to justify her over other characters. Karin and cammy are much better versions of chun but without a fireball.

I still play Chun for fun and when I want a “good” anti air (lol). Laura has trouble vs. close jump ins unless you have perfect reactions, whereas b+hk is actually a lot more godlike of an anti-air than most of us realized last season, so I sometimes get sick of being jumped at and switch back to Chun.

Chun’s combo potential is also very good this season, and her CC combos are fantastic. Too bad her non-CC damage is so meh. J hk is kind of really broken (like Kolin), and she is very fast. Too bad her fireballs and st hp make her SOOOO easy to jump at.

Eh… I try to stay optimistic. I really don’t think she’s THAT bad, but she’s in desperate need of rebuffs in a few departments.

The “easy mode” AA and chuns st.hp are pretty much the only reasons I will pick chun nowadays.

Chuns st.hp is in a class by itself for pokes in this game, and chuns AA is pretty easy to use against non divekick/jump arc altering characters.

The ulterior reasons to pick chun in my book would be m sbk/ ex legs oki is pretty easy to apply, though inconsistent, and chuns walk up pressure game is among the better pressure in the cast because she has fast walkspeed.

But most of these aren’t good enough to win with alone, and when used in conjunction with each other chun still has damage and confirm issues.

I still play her and never switched, but most of my play time is offline and in tournament. It’s a lot less frustrating than online.

I don’t plan on swtiching. I mainly play casual matches, and single player modes.

Yeah, still playing Chun, but just reduced the amount of time I spent with the game to bare minimum until the patch is out to cut my losses. If Chun is not restored to reasonable levels, I’m out. Changes this drastic shouldn’t happen to characters in anything calling itself an e-sport. Instead I’ve been trying to affect things up to what I can (i.e. not much) to justify the 200 hours I spent in the game in the first three months of 2017. The good news is that the average player is now starting to see Chun is not performing to the spec and is weak this Season. There’s less “Chun Li gets good later, her optimum play is figured later” talk too.

Be aware of buying more costumes, I feel that’s Capcom’s way of locking you more to the game. It’s ridiculous Chun has so many costumes yet she’ll not be very visible at any levels of play this year if things are proceeding as they seem to be. All I can think of is that Chun’s costumes are actually bought more frequently than the others?

The real danger towards the game’s player base comes in the form of Injustice 2 and Tekken 7, while Capcom seems to be doing a lot of things wrong to strengthen their game (well, I give them the beta testing which is actually a good idea). SFV seems to have some momentum towards better, the recent 3000 FM challenge for winning casual matches is a step towards right direction, as this rewards playing the game as intended instead of story or survival mode.

Strangely though, I don’t find myself AA’ing that much with with B+HK, I tend to go with st.HK instead. It probably has something to do with the player levels, mine being mostly mud.

I’m still playing her. It’s just always a frustrating experience. Especially when you know half the nerfs were just nonsensical and complete overkill. I’m still a bit shocked that they aren’t going to revert a least one or two things to make her a bit more playable in the 2.1 patch. But whatever. Chun basically plays footsies and that’s it.

It’s also still VERY annoying to see people constantly say she’s still “capable” without realizing what that really means. Just hoping Season 3 brings better things for the character besides more costumes.
