cr.lp - pull stick into back immediately - release into neutral and press st.mp, the timing for the link can be at a slow pace don’t rush yourself, similar to IALL you just need to time it right. I’m usually already at forward LP+MP before I actually see the MP come out, I use the buffer timing to make the charge cancel easier - move into forward and LP+MP for EX Kikoken, link cr.mk and go into M.SBK
Think it’s max damage in the corner, goes into like 330 damage if you get it from j.hk for one bar, pretty crazy.
Per the IALL discussion above, I find the best way is to start with a TK motion (d, df, f, uf, or 2369) and then roll it back down: f, df. The extra time it takes to get back to df sets up the delay necessary to beat the height restriction. 236963K
I was using other methods before I started using this one and it just works really well.
I forced myself to learn the 8236 version consistently (still constantly practicing it). The 236963 version is easier imo, but it goes over people up close, so I go for the 8236 a lot more now.
I do not understand how charging down during the time it takes for a 3-frame jab to come out and recover will allow enough time for an ex fireball. I also thought you need to charge back, not down, for fireball - do you mean charge down-back?
Ya, that’s what I was trying to say. The slight delay in rolling back to df allows the LL to come out at the perfect time. I only use the neutral jump method when I’m at point-blank range so I don’t fly over their head - I often times end up jumping back, or forward when I try it, so I prefer the other method.
I want to continue to be a better Chun-Li player. Anyone have any reccomendations of really good / professional chun players to watch so I can learn from them?
So if you get a jump in, why not go cr.fierce xx exkiko, st.lk xx lk.ll, cr.jab xx lk.sbk…I’m pretty sure this does more damage and no charge partitioning is required. They do have to be standing for the st.lk to hit, but I usually save this for after I get them stunned in the corner.
What are your options after the ex.kiko in the Allioune combo?
Go1 and Nuki are also good to watch for Japanese. I’d watch Filipino Man also for US Chuns. Charming Rogue is another strong Euro Chun and posts here sometimes.
Ya it’s pretty much a plink after you hit standing jab. Just gotta get used to the timing, but it’s pretty easy. Just keep your focus on hitting up+lk immediately after you hit standing jab - plink like.
