The same cab with a vertical screen is still āin-stockā. odd⦠anyways, I paid 1385.00 USD if i remember correctly, Iām unable to find the legit invoices in my email right now. Legit meaning, I asked them to devalue the shipping invoice so I would pay less in customs charges. Its a shady kinda thing to do, but I am not a rich guy, and decided to ask them to do it. They didnt blink, and said its a common thing for them to do.
Iāve got the manual for mine, it shows how to rotate the screen, and Iāve talked to a few others on the arcade otaku site who have ordered both legit taito cabs and clones, and all the bits from taito snap on just fine. Iām considering doing a āconversionā since mines blue, and its not the ādiamondā one⦠kinda like the classic black/white.
I want to say after initial price, shipping, customs, inside the US freight, and storage, i spent almost 2200.00 USD. I avoided another 160 by picking it up myself.
The guys at the warehouse helped me un-crate it and my brother helped me lay it down in the back of his subaru forrester.
I recommend anyone who loves the arcade feel/experience but lives a million miles from one, either order a cab from china, put their eagle eyes on craisg list (sometimes the old naomi cabs show up there), or order a Kraylix. Iām 35 this year, and while that means iām old as fudge, Iāll keep playing SF till my kids put me in a home⦠but it better have internet and iām bringing my taito clone with me.
I wonder if i order 2, will the shipping be combined? Once i either get an Astro City or Blast City for my head to head, im going to try to get these modern arcade clones⦠One vert & one horiztonalā¦
Have you measured the input lag on the monitors on that vewlix clone? I have a non-Kraylix clone and the Viera X24 I have on it is good enough. Since an X1 is hard to get by these days anyway, Iām hoping the input lag on the screen that comes with those is playable. Iām considering of getting the real thing, and clones are probably the most affordable. I like my wooden cab, but longevity is an issue. Iāve had moisture problems with it since itās made form MDF. Even though thatās not an original Taito cab, it will still outlast a wooden cab any day. Considering Iām from MD, my total cost would probably be the same as yours. I just canāt justify a ~$2500 purchase to my wife right now :D.
