Chinatown Fair NYC | Friday is the last day

went to ctf today and the GGXX cabinents were off

no love for GGXX? :frowning:

This just in, both Third Strike cabinets are a quarter and get 20x the amount of money Rumble Fish2 ever will!

FILM AT 11

Something on the GG board broke, the replacement part is coming.

If you want to play Rumble Fish, just put in 2 tokens. If you don’t think it’s worth it, then don’t play it. Lowering the price of a game doesn’t guarantee people are going to play it more. From my decade of experience working in the amusement field, once a person is satisfied playing, he/she will no longer want to play until they have the urge to play again. But since the game doesn’t have much replay value, that means once you’ve played it for 1 token, you probably won’t play it again. Then the machine will need twice as more plays to generate the same income since it’s 1 token. This is a win situation for the consumer and a lose for the business. I have NEVER in my life seen a game generate more revenue because a game is cheaper unless the game was overpriced to begin with and in today’s economy, 2 quarters is not a lot.

Also, 20x plays on 3rd Strike is $5 dollars, a homeless guy panhandling on the subways can make more…

Is it possible to move GG to perhaps say… Soul Calibur 2?

SC2 is still on the big cabinet?

Ok, here’s an idea. Take the second 3s cabinet. Make it 50 cents. THEN put sanwas in it.

Updated first post.

KayinNasaki - Yeah thanks for the games!

Here’s arcadia’s sf4 rankings. Fall '08.
S - Sagat, Ryu
high A - Zangief, Bison
low A - Barlog, Blanka, Rufus
B - Chun, Viper, Akuma
wall
high C - Honda, Guile, Dhalsim, Abel, Ken
low C - Vega, Fuerte

You could hype 1 token days like once a month or every two months. SF4 and the main games could be left alone and it would allow people to want to come out because they believe they are getting a discount. Gives more players some confidence due to getting more games in too, just a thought though.

I’m going to be moving to the city next week, I was the white kid with the lillypad shirt playing mvc2 last friday. Was in chinatown for a show on my birthday and was too close to let down a couple games. GG’s to who I played, I’m wayy too rusty though.

Oh yeah… Marn why were you scared of my money match offer? My girl thought I threatened to beat you up online on the way you acted. Why are you scared of me? :open_mouth:

Ok, so then why does 3S still cost one token, and why did you lower AH2 to fifty cents?

;p

(I don’t really care at this point, I’m shoving $50 into MBAA every damn weekend, just thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask is all).

The games at CF are cheap enough already. Let’s get economics straight, inflation has double since the initial release of Street Fighter, so .25 cents in 1987 is actually .48 cents today. So our 1 token games are actually only making .12 cents! You can’t expect a business to flourish if consumer expectations are the same as the past. It sounds like a good marketing strategy to have discounted days but I don’t believe the business will see any long term effects of it or in actuality, it might have the adverse effect.

For those that need help converting inflation:

The reason why I made AH2 2 tokens was because I wanted to expand the community for the game. The game obviously has a higher replay value than Rumble Fish but the results show, the attempt was a failure.

Thought:

Replace 3s machines with pan-handlers? They don’t even take any electricity!

What’s good w/ GG.

please tell me how inflation is relevant 12 years prior to the game you’re bitchin about lol

a quarter for 3s on release is worth 33 cents today.

st was released in what, 1994? thats still 37 cents.

if you’re going to manipulate statistics, do it right.

So you should…

Am I the only one who thinks this is a good idea? :frowning: Whatever, fuck 3s.

Also buying Arcana Heart at all was failure, yet you did that twice.

:stuck_out_tongue:

All you CTF people would know this shit…

Out of curiosity, are the Sanwa parts on the SF4 cab going to replaced on a regular basis? God knows how many people there think hitting it harder makes your moves come out faster or something, and the stick is already starting to feel a bit more loose than it should. I think a replacement spring would fix this problem.

Best idea ever.

maybe then I can actually do keeper-jin and karashoryu 100% of the time

lol why do people complain about prices.

If you want sanwas, then 3s should be $1.

Videogames in general should be 50cents - $1 - $2

Only games that should be 25 cents is pac man old school game.
