Chinatown Fair 3S Players Thread

As to those that stated they were coming but didn’t, thank you all for your divided support since we only had less than usual for both 3S and ST to create a minium SIX MAN Round Robin Ranbat to begin with.

Like Nohoho said, if people would be men to their words in coming to play in a small community tourney, then we’d have people to tell others about it and bring a bigger crowd.

Instead, there was an 8 man GGXX:AC tournament that went to the wire with the unexpected players.

Hopefully if people are interested in continuing with GGXX Ranbats, then it can be a major bi weekly tournament.

Friday Ranbats, Week 7
Date: 9/28/07
Time: 6:30p.m. for the warmups
7:00p.m for the signups
7:30p.m. for the tournies
Location: Web2Zone- 45 Rector St.
Games: Street Fighter 3: Third Strike/Super Turbo/GGXX:AC

-In all respect, SIX players are needed as a minimum for each game to perform a Round Robin Ranbat, EIGHT is needed for a double elimination bracket.

-Be on time. Lateness will be penalized for a late bracket entry.

-Try to bring your own copies of Anniversary Collection/Capcom Classic Collection 2/CVS2 for casuals/etc. as well as accessories in case anything goes awry.

-Support is always welcome. Any volunteers to help with the brackets, setting up equipment, organizing the brackets, etc. is always appreciated.

Hey everybody,

i’ve been asking around about possibly getting CF monthlies going again. I was there last Friday and was suprised to actually see the CvS2 cabinet fixed and working, also, seeing a guy working on the ventalation system in the back. So far, the feedback is pretty good.

I’m thinking to start these up ASAP if the feedback is good enough, and to maybe have a trial run or something to see how it goes.

I’m proposing MvC2, CvS2, 3s, and AHF be in the lineup.

Others can throw in side games at $2 entry or something. (Like if Jeron wants to do Vampire Savior or whoever.)

So what do you guys think?

3s machine MP and HP buttons are broke on 1p side. they’d go off without my hand anywhere near them and if i did anti-air fireballs, it would hold them for absolutely no reason. they still work but they fucked up at least 5 times per round.

If they fix the 3s machine i’ll play 3s if not then just AHF. All and all sound like a good idea.

Just ask Henry to fix it, he loves 3s. He’ll do it.

Looking at the results Sergio’s a beast. lol. And good shit for Bum placing when hes a smash player. Hes too good. Maybe in a month ill be entering everytime so expect 4Sh0 in the rankings. lol. :wonder:

i’d go to cf if they would get it up on the big cab again. or maybe if there were some 3s players on mid-day sundays. i’m randomly around chinatown for dim sum. btw, i’m a makoto player, some of you know me… i’ve been around since back in the day.

**I’m headin there this Friday just to see who’s down there. If i see familiar faces I’ll play some games. Otherwise, I’ll go buy dumplings from a block away and chill.

And, YES, there will be 2 ranbat warmups for the SSN.

One in October 12th, the other in October 26th.

The games will be the same: 3S/ST/GGXX:AC/CVS2/etc…
Location: Web2zone- 45 Cooper Square (Better now?)
Time: 6:30 pm warmup times, 7:30pm-8pm ranbat tourneys signups.
Fee: 2$ per tournament

If any wants more games included, bring copies of the games, consoles, and I’ll bring in the bracket papers. Otherwise, you know where to contact me.

Sorry for the ramdom ass questions in advance. I was thinking about stopping in there maybe in the next weekend or two. Just want to ask a couple things though.

How much does game cost to play (mainly 3s)? Is it tokens or quarters?
I only play on console and only against local dudes (AKA I suck) Rough crowd? Should expect much heckling?

Anyway, you see some random skinny ass white kid playing 3S (badly), be nice. I may just have some treats, if ya feel me

3s is a quarter, but cf uses tokens. plan on getting owned, cf has some of the better 3s players on this side of the country.
