Ugh. I don’t care if we do the same thing to other animals here in the US. I’ll still never get use to hearing stories like these that happen to dogs or cats. It just kind of hurts my soul.
I think my problem is i’ve been attacked by so many dogs, not only that, in the news lately we’ve had a lot of dog attacks on little children that have often ended with the kid dying. I dont hate all domesticated animals, my aunt owns 2 cats and i love being around them, probably because they’re easier to control.
i have no problems wit her eating a dog…but roasting it alive. damn. poor guy. take him out in the back old yeller style at least.

Well no of course not many societies have indoor markets where all the work has been done for them all they gotta do is pick up a package of what used to be an animal, already killed, skinned and cut into nice little slabs and then packaged up for them to take home. We’ve been completely removed from having to actually prepare our food, from killing it to eating it. Your comparing apples and oranges here. China and a lot of of countries in that area continue to raise, kill and prepare their own food in a variety of ways that you really have no right in judging at all. Your judging her based on a completely different set of standards. Yea it’s fucked up that she don’t kill it first but it’s really not our place to muscle in on other countries cultures and practices.

dogs and cats and horses and all other manner of animals have been consumed as food since the dawn of time. it is only in areas like the U.S. where these animals have been kept as pets rather than pest control or food. there is no humane way to kill anything, in the end you are still killing it. you can make it as quick as possible though, which is at very least the respect the forsaken beast deserves for it’s sacrifice. my problem is not with what is eaten, but with how it is treated until it is.

Every culture has its taboos like the West not eating dogs and cats, but if I ever have to kill an animal myself for food, I’m gonna do it the quickest, and least painful way possible - cutting the throat. I could never bring myself to cook anything alive. To think that some people can do that while hearing the scream of an animal is just disturbing.
I make lobster/crab all the time. Nah I don’t cook anything alive other than boiling the shit, but I fully understand it in some cultures. With that said, in some places they don’t eat cheese. Spoiled milk…EEEWWWWWW!!
