I sat down last night to play some random Championship games after training mode, and out of the 8 people I played, none of them had more than two bars. It’s fucking disgusting. I’ll never understand how some people have the motivation to play through that shit to get to G1. It’s a completely different game having to accommodate for such horrid lag. It’s no wonder why people spam the same moves over and over. And then all the people in the SF4 general forums bitch.
GGPO OR BUST! Capcom fails hard at a decent net code. I haven’t played anyone local yet via online, but how does it run? With us being all Chicago-area people, playing online with each other should be alright.

Brominated: i play with midwest people on XBL with minimal lag all the time. As long as its 4-5 bars its usually dandy. Forget shitty Championship mode and play with people around here in player matches.

Agreed. Getting to G1 was the most disappointing experience ever. Ive played people on there that literally seem like they just picked up the game.
I never had the intention of climbing Championship. I just tried it again yesterday for kicks. And it was awful.
The only motivation for me to play Championship mode is to solicit hatemail by playing “lame”. 
I did too yesterday. I feel like I don’t learn anything because the opponents I come across play like shit and just do what it takes to win. It’s not really fun.
Championship mode is most certainly a great idea. It was just not executed well. They shouldnt award you points for anything other than winning the championship, and you should lose more points when you lose.
That would fix scrubs being higher up but I would be stuck playing the same shitty people I’m playing now and learning nothing. The more skilled people would enjoy that I suppose.
IMO it sucks and pales in comparison to BB’s system. Instead of taking forever to reach an arbitrary goal that still comes out with random matches, the level system in BB makes sense. Sure it’s obscene number of points but the levels are straight forward and it’s much more difficult to get to higher levels (i.e. you actually have to win).
