Acen was cool many years ago when Id get wasted and would be telling every room that I was with Nickel City so I never had to buy a stupid badge…and id walk around the whole place calling everyone dorks while being wasted beyond belief. Hey, I havnt been following this thread for a long time now but I just thought I would pop in to say that I won an SBO qual preliminary and will be playing in the block finals in Akihabara on June 6th. My Team is Isa (ED) and MK (JO). You can read about it in my blog if you want.

I also most likely wont be visiting Chicago this Summer. Airfare is too expensive right now so Im just gonna be staying around here. I should be back to visit again in the winter though.

Acen started out shitty. But then I got better as the weekend progressed, and this is after you realized that the game room was ASSSS.

But nonetheless I had fun. And I thank all those who came out to participate. We had a 60+ man SSF4 tournament this year. Competition was fair. Here are the results:

• Note: we did two separate brackets. a ps3 side and a xbox360 side. all single elimination. winner of those 2 sides then played in grand finals. system of choice was agreeded upon by coin flip.

It was pretty much mwc 1.5, a bunch of the same guys like magnus, team purple, beno, minus a few people. I was playing pretty badly, I got knocked into losers by magnus. I almost lost to webster. Then like halfway through my match with necrosis (I just went it 'meh, f it ', and I just started shielding the crap out of absolutely everything I could possibly shield and no one really knew how to deal with it the rest of the tourney. I would do random stuff like instant airdash shield, jump shield, airtech into shield, shield in the middle of strings into overhead, so I guess i was in pretty good shape after that.

No setup for melty in the gameroom all weekend, except for only the tourney that friday. It was set up like 15 minutes before the tourney started too. So that kinda sucked. Oh, and my arcade stick finally died. So that sucked also. So I spent like almost zero time in the gameroom all weekend but I had a bunch of fun checking out the rest of the con and hanging out with some cool peeps

For those who are willing to catch the train (under a two hour trian ride), there is a Metra Train that will drop you off within 3 blocks of the M.A.S tournament venue (J. Jireh’s Coffee Shop). Link provided below:

• PLEASE NOTE: Remember that prices vary based on how far you are traveling. But on weekends it SHOULD BE $5 round trip on the Metra Train. Be sure to arrive at your train stop 15 mins BEFORE your train is schedule to depart from that stop. When on board a conductor will walk pass and collect your monies. Be sure to listen for your automated calling for your stop. Gotta be on the ball, because they stop and go at train stops QUICK. It’s somewhat easy to miss when you were supposed to get off. And that would SUCK, if you missed your stop.
